Eveline: Where did she come from? [Resident Evil 7/RE7]

Eveline is a bio-organic weapon that was made for infiltration. She could use her spores to bring down militaries and political organizations without much difficulty. But the question is - where did she come from?

Who is Eveline?

Eveline is a little girl in Resident Evil 7. She’s the biggest and the worst antagonist you will cross in the game. Not only does she have the ability to infect but she seems to have powers of her own. Some of these powers include psychic attacks and even connecting with the infected on a low telepathic scale. She has the ability to cause others who have joined her family to do a complete 180 degree on their personality.

Despite her powers however, she clearly had the mind and desire of a child. She wanted a family and she wanted love. Jack mentioned it to Ethan as they both floated in the dream-like state. Why else would she attack Ethan? After all, since Mia was her mommy, it was only right that Ethan became her daddy.

What do we know about Eveline?

The thing about Eveline is that we only know she was a BOW (Bio-Organic Weapon). According to the Resident Evil Wiki, the organization created her from a mutamycete and a highly evolved fungus. They infused it into her system thus, allowing her to develop telepathic powers which soon evolved into telekinesis.

Resident Evil 7 begins with the origin of Eveline. The little girl, being a target, had to be escorted to another lab where she could stay. At that time, Mia Winters became her baby sitter and Alan Drooney, her handler. However, an event happened where a hurricane attacked the tanker and caused the girl to panic. In her state of panic, Eveline unleashed the full extent of her powers. She killed everyone on the ships sans Mia, who she craved to have as her mother.

Where did she come from?

Now where did she come from? Creating a kid from a highly evolved fungus doesn’t seem to be something that can be done in your everyday high school lab. In fact, creating a unique bio-weapon such as her required a brilliant mind to do so. As far as Resident Evil 7 and Capcom is concerned, she was created by an organization that would revolutionize history. How so? She would be an infiltration weapon, using the spores dropping from her body to infect and take control of people.

But who created her and what sick mind decided to come up with this plan?

Someone else other than Umbrella?

We all know that Umbrella’s known for creating viruses to infect people and turn them into undead cannibals. However, the thing is – Umbrella sought to force humanity to evolve which was to use the virus. However, that clearly didn’t turn out well as anyone who was infected by the virus resulted to suffering from necrosis. Their bodies deteriorated along with their minds.

However, Umbrella had another competitor. This company was the same organization that employed Ada Wong in the earlier series. It was also the same company that Albert Wesker worked with. At some point in the early 2000’s, Albert said he required data on certain BOWs from Arklay Laboratory. And perhaps, one of the datum he found contained a blueprint on how to create someone like Eveline. As one of the top researchers of Umbrella, he had the brains and the resources to do so. But most of all, he had the lack of inhibition that most researchers did not have in order to create someone like Eveline.

Albert Wesker’s Creation?

One possibility on hand may be that Eveline may possibly be Albert Wesker’s daughter. Assuming that Albert Wesker did create her, that would mean he would need some organic material to create an embryo that would become Eveline. But why use his own organic material? Albert himself became one of the Wesker Children. Also, the Prototype Virus infected him when he began working against Umbrella. By using his genetics, he not only replicated his abilities but also passed on the strength of his genes to soften the malignant mutation.

Also, at some point of the game, someone indirectly mentioned Albert Wesker. According to the notes, Albert’s H.C.F. group may have created Eveline during the 2000s. Because of this, the idea of Eveline being of his blood is not too far off.

  1. She is part Albert Wesker and part Jill Valentine. Wesker extracted Jills embryos when he captured her. RE7 takes place between 4 and 5. The little girl is a brunette (just like Jill was, before she went platinum blonde). Redfield is seen searching for her at the end of Re7 (as evidenced by him showing up with a chopper and a hand cannon in the final scene). How did he end up working for Umbrella? So many questions left unanswered.

  2. at first i thought that eveline was created by umbrella but during that tape on the boat that eveline told you to watch i realized that nobody had the umbrella sign that all that people had on there suits in the other games

    • Yeap, she isn’t. In fact, it’s a rival company’s response to Umbrella’s line of bio-weapons. Forget using viruses, we need something that can think, the company said. And poof, out came Eveline.

    • It’s alright. It’s probably one of the most possible assumptions. Considering that they couldn’t have made her entirely out of a mushroom, they had to get her human cells from somewhere.

    • But again, where did the embryo come from? He’s gotta find it somewhere. :)) It’ll probably be answered in the later expansions of RE7.
