How to Do Fake Shots
The fake shot is a crafty way to create space in the pitch or to disorient defenders attempting to intercept your player during the feint.
Summary
To perform a fake shot, press the shoot button then quickly tap the pass/header button while tilting the left analog stick in any direction (◯>×+left analog stick to any direction). If done correctly, your player should feint their shot and instead maintain possession of the ball and ready to drive the ball, pass, or line up a real shot with the space you have created.
Tips for Fake Shots
- Getting clipped by a tackling opponent while performing the fake shot can grant you a free kick.
- You can perform multiple fake shots in quick succession to force your opponent to commit multiple defenders to intercept your angle of attack, making it a good way to set-up a crafty pass to another player in better position to score.
- Practicing the fake shot is a good way to learn the more advanced scoop turn as the latter essentially adds just one more input from the left analog stick to perform.
