Final Fantasy X / X-2 - How to Obtain Yuna’s Nirvana

A guide on how to obtain Nirvana, Yuna's Celestial Weapon in Final Fantasy X. Included are the weapon's abilities and required materials to fully enhance it.

Yuna’s Nirvana

FFX How to Obtain Nirvana

Nirvana is Yuna’s best staff, allowing her to cast all of her spells for 1 MP. This easily makes Yuna one of the best damage-dealers in the party, especially when she is able to bombard enemies with Holy.

FFX How to Obtain Nirvana

Nirvana is obtained from the Monster Arena at the Calm Lands. You will need to capture one of each monster that the man in the arena asks for. Below is a list of all the target monsters and where they can be found in the Calm Lands.

Once you have captured every monster listed above, talk to the man at the Monster Arena. A chest containing Nirvana will appear in front the arena. Open it using the Celestial Mirror.

Celestial Mirror Guide

The weapon’s base form will only have the No AP ability, making it rather useless. You will need to enhance it with the Moon Crest and Moon Sigil to bring out its full potential.

FFX How to Obtain Nirvana

The Moon Crest is found in a chest immediately after arriving on Besaid Island. Before swimming to shore toward Wakka and the Besaid Aurochs, head to the section of land on the upper right corner of the map to find the chest.

Moon Sigil

FFX How to Obtain Nirvana

The Moon Sigil is obtained after defeating all of Belgemine’s aeons, including the three optional ones, in Remiem Temple. You will be rewarded with the item after completing all of the battles.

Nirvana Abilities

Return to the shining path at Lake Macalania and offer the Moon Crest and Moon Sigil to enhance Nirvana. Below are the abilities the weapon will have for each of its versions.

  • No AP: Prevents Yuna from gaining AP in battle.
First Enhancement (Moon Crest)
  • No AP: Prevents Yuna from gaining AP in battle.
  • Double Overdrive: Charges Yuna’s Overdrive at double the speed.
Second Enhancement (Moon Sigil)
  • Break Damage Limit: Allows Yuna to do more than 9,999 damage in an attack.
  • Triple Overdrive: Charges Yuna’s Overdrive at triple the speed.
  • Double AP: Doubles the amount of AP Yuna gains from battle.
  • One MP Cost: All of Yuna’s spells cost 1 MP to cast.
