Can You Play as Other Characters in Sonic Frontiers?
No other playable characters besides Sonic based on official trailers.
Official trailers and gameplay footage for Sonic Frontiers has featured Sonic the Hedgehog as the only playable character in the game. Other characters like Miles “Tails” Prower, Knuckles the Echidna, and Amy Rose who were also present in the open-world titles other promotional videos are likely to be in the game for story purposes only.
As revealed from available sources, Sonic Frontiers focuses on Sonic’s mission to rescue his friends Miles, Knuckles, and Amy after being unwillingly transported to Starfall islands. The speedy blue hedgehog must battle his way through hordes of hostile robots under the command of a mysterious girl named Sage to reunite with his comrades.
Other character may become playable in future DLC and updates.
While not confirmed by the developers, it is still possible for Sonic’s allies (and even foes from past Sonic titles) to become playable in paid DLC to be released in the future. More information on this will be added when they are confirmed from official sources.
