Doing Precision Counters
Precision Counters are performed very similarly to regular Cuff Counters but require more precise timing (hence the name). While regular counters are done by simply pressing the △ button as soon as the prompt appears, pulling off Precision Counters is done a bit differently.
To perfectly time a Precision Counter, you need to familiarize yourself with the enemy’s windup and get a feel for the amount of time it takes for the hit to connect. This means that you are not simply waiting for the counter prompt to show up on the screen but are actually anticipating the opponent’s attack through visual cues like the startup and impact frames.
Practicing Precision Counters
You can try practicing Precision Counters with deer found all throughout Athia. Go in battle with some deer and wait for them to throw out the back kick attack and try to counter it by observing the windup and impact. Do this until you can consistently land Precision Counters before moving on to other enemies in the game.
Enhancing Precision Counters using Gear.
Certain Necklaces and Nails grant Precision Counters various effects such as electrocuting or freezing enemies, making them more useful in battle. Try to experiment with different load-outs when you can to make perfect counters even more rewarding when you pull them off.
