Defeating the fallen warrior’s ghost.
Return to the same spot at night to proceed with the substory. Try to bring some healing items before you fight the fallen warrior’s ghost as your enemy hits significantly harder than those you have encountered from previous side quests. After you defeat the ghost, you will get a Nishikigoi Amulet as a reward and the substory will be cleared.
