Substory 48: The Way of the Sammerai Strategy Guide
Training Tom and defeating 9 samurai.
In this substory, you have to train Tom 3 times. To do this, go to the dojo and talk to Tom. Note that the dojo is only available during the daytime. After sparring with Tom, spend time somewhere else, then return to him. Tom becomes stronger after every fight so be careful when challenging on the second and third time.
Once you finish training Tom 3 times, the substory moves to the South of Fushimi Ichibangai. Since you will be fighting 9 samurai with Tom, it is recommended to bring recovery items before proceeding to the battle. After defeating the enemies, the substory will be cleared. You can recruit Tom and get his Trooper card at Shinsengumi Headquarters afterwards.
