Mia Winters

Biography

Mia Winters is Ethan’s wife in Resident Evil 7. Mia appears working with Umbrella and serves as the “babysitter” of one of Umbrella’s Bio-Organic Weapons (BOW). The BOW is a girl named Eveline who she babysits for the time being. However, something went wrong and Eveline lost control. This resulted into the explosion to the ship, leaving only Eveline and her alive. As the ship capsized, Mia found herself floating to the coasts of Louissiana where the Baker family finds her.

Inside the house, she keeps half of her personality but also has a side to her completely submissive to Eveline’s will. While she’s there, she tries to escape. However, she eventually submits to Eveline’s plan despite being able to keep the infection at bay.

Personality

Prior to her infection, Mia’s shown to be a caring woman. She shows a deep love for her husband and has a sweet disposition towards him. This is seen in her video message when she tells him that she can’t wait to go home to be with her “loving husband” again.

However, 3 years later – she’s shown to have undergone drastic changes. Her first message is evidence of that. She is stricken with trauma and still in a complete daze as to what happened. Despite this however, her former personality shows as she tries to warn Ethan to stay away.

When he first rescues her, Mia still retains her personality. She shows her concern and care for her husband, going as far as to trying to get him to somewhere safe. However, it’s clear that she suffers severe levels of psychosis such as personality changes and intense hysteria.

Abilities

Ever since her infection, Mia has gained new abilities. Some of these abilities involve superhuman strength, as she was able to lift a chainsaw. She also seems to develop a “killer instinct” (courtesy of Umbrella’s BOW) and is able to focus on a single target to strike down to any person who opposes her. She also develops some sort of weapon proficiency such as her  ability to wield a knife.

However, she gives up her emotional stability. The only time these abilities come out is when she is a complete state of hysteria.
