Boss Guides

Recovery and the Tower

Investigate the UNSC Signal – Establish a Forward Operating Base

1 Follow the path down the hill and clear out the enemies in FOB Golf. The high ground gives you good view of the Brutes, Jackals, and Grunts below so try to take them out before descending further down the FOB.
2 If you would rather take on the enemies up close, there are some fusion coils on the platform to the left that you can lob when the targets bunch up.

Remove the FOB from the Network

1 After killing all the Banished, interact with the terminal.
2 Unlock the Mongoose and feel free to call it in to the FOB. You can also find a UNSC Audio Log behind you (turn to your left while facing the terminal and look toward the sandbags at the back).

Investigate the UNSC Signal

1 Ride the Mongoose and head for the Tower to the northwest of FOB Golf.
2 You will run into some enemies on the way to your next location so be prepared for occasional firefights. You can also head north from FOB Golf and follow the path up the mountain to find Boxer Squad. Clear out the Banished that the squad is fighting (Neutralize Enemy Forces) to earn Valor.
3 You can immediately spot some Banished as soon as the gates of the Tower come into view. Pick them off and head further toward the Tower.

Locate the UNSC Signal Within the Tower (1)

1 Head to the direction of the new mission marker by going right from the entrance of the tower.
2 Go down to the lower area and help the UNSC soldiers clear out the outpost.
3 Enter the outpost and interact with the terminal to open the gate.
4 Take out the enemies in the next area. Afterwards, a hologram of Chak ‘Lok will appear at the gravity lift near the opposite end of the area.

Find a Way to End the Lockdown

1 Follow the mission marker to the building where the lockdown controls are found. Some Jackals and Brutes will be blocking your way so deal with them and go up the ramp.
2 Interact with the terminal to disable the lockdown.

Manually reactivate the Grav-lift

1 A group of Brutes will arrive near your location. Try to grapple up to high ground to get a better view and make it easier for you to pick them off with head shots and grenades.
2 Try to snipe the Banished hanging out in the overlook to the left of the terminal. Afterwards, grappleshot to the platform where the terminal is.
3 More Brutes will appear from the upper ledge behind the terminal. Do not hesitate to move away from the terminal first to find some cover.
4 Interact with the gravity lift terminal.

Fend off the Reinforcements

1 Yet more Brutes will appear, including a Brute Captain who can easily deplete your shield in just a few shots. Focus on taking out the lesser enemies first by using grenades or any fusion coils remaining in the area.
2 Once the Brute Captain is alone, grab a fusion coil and try to lure him into one of the buildings (preferably the one where the lockdown controls are). Go up the ramp and wait. When the Brute Captain steps in the door, lob the fusion coil to deal a good amount of damage or pepper him with shots as he dances around the door.

Enter the Tower’s Grav-lift – Inspect Mjolnir Armor

1 Go up using the gravity lift.
2 Examine the Mjolnir Armor to get the Threat Sensor upgrade.

Locate the UNSC Signal Within the Tower (3)

1 Follow the mission marker and take out the Banished along the way (use the Threat Sensor to reveal their position). Fusion coils can be found scattered on the sides of the halls so use them to clear out the enemies faster.
2 Remember to frequently scan as you move through the halls. You can find a Spartan Core along the sides of one of the halls next to a crate.

Free the Spartan (1)

Defeat Chak ‘Lok

1 Interact with the door.
2 Prepare to battle Chak ‘Lok.
3 Chak ‘Lok is fast and aggressive so you will need to stay mobile as well when taking him on. Use the Threat Sensor often to keep up with the boss constantly relocating during the fight.

Use the Grappleshot to help you move around faster, especially when you need to pick up Shock Coils around the area. Pepper Chak ‘Lok with the Pulse Rifle to deplete his shield and switch to any strong Kinetic weapon for headshots. Expect a long and drawn out battle as Chak ‘Lok has a good amount of HP.

Free the Spartan (2)

1 Interact with the terminal to free the Spartan.
2 Watch the cutscene.
