Tips for Beginners in Halo Infinite

Below are some general tips and useful information for new players in Halo Infinite for both single-player and multiplayer game modes.

Campaign Mode Mission Walkthroughs

Practice using weapons at the Academy.

Familiarize yourself with various weapons in the game by doing Weapon Drills in the new Academy feature. Take the time to observe each weapon’s characteristics, such as rate of fire, effective range, reload speed, and other properties to help you during real encounters.

Remember the locations of weapons throughout various maps.

Try to remember the locations of various weapons found on the different maps when training with Bots. This will allow you to know where to pick-up those which will give your team the advantage during engagements. Gaining a reliable mental picture of each map also lets you discover good vantage points and escape routes during unfavorable situations.

Learn to jump-crouch.

Jumping in the air and immediately crouching lets you get up on higher ledges. This is because you are essentially tucking-in your legs as you go airborne, allowing you to reach platforms you would not normally be able to with a regular jump.

About Headshots

You cannot score headshots when an enemy’s shields are active. Exceptions to this are when you are using certain limited weapons capable of piercing through them, particularly sniper rifles.

It is also important to note that it was not possible to perform headshots with certain weapons in past titles of the series. In Halo Infinite, weapons such as plasma guns will now allow you to score headshots.

About Aiming Down Sights (ADS)

Note that aiming down the sights (ADS) by pressing the left trigger button does not improve the accuracy of your weapon. ADS simply lets you zoom in on your target, making it easier for your eyes to hit them, especially when going for headshots.

ADS, however, narrows your field of view and slows down your movements speed, making it disadvantageous compared to aiming normally. Decide carefully when to use ADS based on your equipped weapon and the enemy’s distance to land shots more frequently.

ADS is automatically disengaged when you take damage, especially if you are using sniper rifles.
