Resident Evil 7 introduces an entirely new cast of characters in narrating the events at the Dulvey Haunted House. Players will control Ethan, a man bent on discovering what has happened to his wife Mia who he knows has already died. The trail leads him to the rundown residence of the mysterious Baker Family who do not seem to be at all ‘human’.
Characters
Ethan Winters
Character Profile: Ethan Winters
The protagonist of Resident Evil 7. Ethan is thrust into unspeakable horrors when he sets off to the Dulvey Haunted House after a disturbing phone call from his believed-to-be deceased wife Mia. As a contrast to previous protagonists of the Resident Evil, Ethan has no military or law enforcement background, and is meant to capture as real an experience as that of the everyman with limited survival skills.
Mia Winters
Character Profile: Mia Winters
The “deceased” wife of Ethan who mysteriously surfaces via a phone call warning her husband to abandon his intentions of finding her. She is reported to have been seen in the Dulvey Haunted House, though she does not appear to be herself. What has become of her is not known.
The Baker Family
The antagonists of Resident Evil 7. This once-quiet family manifests strange abilities. The Bakers murder anyone trespassing in their seemingly abandoned plantation.
Jack Baker
Character Profile: Jack Baker
The patriarch of the Baker Family, Jack is a ravenous man with superhuman strength. Ethan first encounters him when he arrives in the Dulvey Haunted House. He is clearly not bound by human fragility, as he was able to brush off seemingly fatal injuries inflicted by Ethan to defend himself against him.
Marguerite Baker
Character Profile: Marguerite Baker
The wife of Jack, Marguerite is a demented hag who harnesses swarms of strange insects. She has been seen pursuing Mia as the latter makes a desperate escape from the Dulvey Haunted House.
Lucas Baker
Character Profile: Lucas Baker
The son of Jack and Marguerite, Lucas is described as a “bad seed” in the documentary series Sewer Gators when the Dulvey Haunted House was featured in the show. He appears to be able to regenerate lost limbs, as evidenced when Jack cut his arm off, only to have it grow back again though in a withered state.
