Soul Hackers 2 - Demon Fusion Guide and How to Fuse Demons

How to Fuse Demons in Soul Hackers 2

Demon fusion is a familiar system of Devil Summoner, Shin Megami Tensei, and Persona games. In Soul Hackers 2 (SH 2), there are little tweaks in the fusion system making it a new experience for new and returning players.

Unlock the fusion system

In order to access the fusion system of Soul Hackers 2, continue playing the main story and reach a certain point where you gain access to the facility that provides demon fusion called Cirque du Goumaden

Go to Cirque du Goumaden

Once you unlocked the Roppo Realm, you will gain access to the facility called Cirque du Goumanden. This facility is similar to Shin Megami Tensei’s Cathedral of Shadows or Persona’s Velvet Room and is operated by Ringmaster Victor.

Apart from fusing demons, other services Ringmaster Victor can provide include registering demons you had in your demon stock through the demonic compendium. The demonic compendium is an encyclopedia of each demon’s lore, affinity strengths and weaknesses, and usable skills.

More facility services will be unlocked as you progress to the game.

Cirque du Goumaden’s New Features

A new feature added to the fusion system of Soul Hackers 2 is recommended fusions. The recommended fusions are seen on the right side of the facility’s home screen and are usually three suggestions. These fusion suggestions are based on the demons you currently have in your demon stock.

Normal Fusion

Normal Fusion is a basic fusion of two demons. Two demons are used as a fusion material to generate a single and powerful higher-level demon. In order to fuse for strong demons, you need to reach their base level first by leveling up Ringo through battles. Some demons are available through the compendium while others are unlocked through paid DLC or other means such as defeating them in battle.

The new fused demon has preset skills and vacant skill slots open. This gives you an opportunity to carry over skills from the fusion material demons to your target demon. You can make the new demon focused on a certain skill type such as Physical, Gunfire, Elemental (Fire, Ice, Electric, Force, Ailment), and Almighty. Also, you can make the demon a support ally demon focusing on healing and recovery or buffs/debuffs.

Special Fusions

There are some strong demons that have a required fusion material in order to get summoned as a demon ally in-game. They are a high level for Ringo and have more than two fusion materials needed. More information about this mechanic will be added.

Why fuse for strong demons?

With some exceptions especially for experienced and hardcore Devil Summoner, Shin Megami Tensei, and Persona gamers, it is very important to fuse for new demons every time you enter a new locale or dungeon.

Some enemies may have a new affinity weakness that you cannot exploit with your demon stock unless you fused for a new demon. Also, strong demons have less affinity weaknesses that enemies and bosses can exploit.
