Buster Sword Battle Stances Guide for Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion
This page contains a guide on the Buster Sword Battle Stance for Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion (FFVII CC Remaster/Crisis Core Reunion), including basic information on the new mechanic introduced in the remaster, effects, and useful tips during combat.
What is the Battle Stance?
The Battle Stance is a new battle mechanic added to Crisis Core: Reunion that expands upon the combat of the original game. Upon acquiring the Buster Sword, press the □ + x (Playstation 4 and Playstation 5) to assume a Battle Stance which allows Zack to perform Strong Attacks while greatly enhancing his damage output using other abilities.
Costs Attack Points (AP) to Use
Attack Points (AP) are expended whenever you go into a Battle Stance so use it wisely to avoid running out of the resource during critical moments in battle.
How to Unlock the Battle Stance
Acquire the Buster Sword (Main Story Progress)
Battle Stance becomes available upon obtaining the Buster Sword during the main story. Prior to this, Zack will not be able to use Battle Stance while wielding the standard SOLDIER sword that he starts out with in the beginning of the game.
Battle Stance Effects
Strong Attacks
Zack gains access to Strong Attacks while in a Battle Stance which are wild and hard-hitting swings. Enemy attacks will not make Zack flinch when he is using Strong Attacks, allowing you to plough through enemies through sheer force.
Block > Counter
Zack can also perform a powerful Counter slash while blocking after assuming a Battle Stance. Time an enemy’s incoming strike by guarding before retaliating quickly to deal massive damage.
Enhanced Abilities
It is also expected that the Battle Stance will also grant Zack improved damage numbers when using offensive Commands (physical attacks). More information on this will be added when it is confirmed in the game.
