What is Affection?
Affection is a stat in Crisis Core Reunion that indicates the Zack and Aerith’s relationship level. Raising this value can be done through various methods and is required to obtain the Good Match for Aerith (Bronze trophy) during the game’s mains story.
Raising Affection
You can start raising your Affection with Aerith during Chapter 4 at Sector 5 Slums Market after a boy (Bruno) steals Zack’s wallet. A number of activities can be done to increase Affection which are listed in the How to Get High Affection section of this guide.
Benefits of Raising Affection
Unlocks the Good Match for Aerith (Bronze trophy) achievement.
Having high Affection lets you unlock the Good Match for Aerith trophy only after Bruno comments that you and Aerith “make a good couple.”
It is recommended to get the Good Match for Aerith (Bronze trophy) achievement here in Chapter 4 as you may no longer meet the conditions once you progress through the story section and return to Shinra HQ. This will permanently lock you out of getting the Good Match for Aerith achievement for the duration of the playthrough.

Having high Affection also makes it easier to guess the correct number in the number guessing mini game at the market as Aerith’s choices are narrowed down when you consult with her.

How to Get High Affection
Talk to the three vendors at the market.
Talking to a vendor at the market will increase your Affection with Aerith by 10 points. Be sure to talk to all three of them to get a total increase of 30.
Trade potions from the boy hosting the number guessing mini game.
To increase Affection with Aerith further, you can trade potions with the boy who hosts the number guessing mini game. Do this five (5) times to earn an additional 10 Affection points.
Talk to the girl who offers to help you find Bruno and keep waiting for her.
You can accept a girl’s offer at the market to help you find Bruno. To get a total of up to 10 additional Affection points, you must choose to “Wait a little longer” 10 times whenever Zack becomes impatient.
Offer to buy the medicine that Bruno needs.
When you run into Aerith and Bruno, be sure to offer to buy the medicine for him (second choice) instead of getting back his wallet that the monster ate. This will let you earn an additional 10 Affection points.
Clear Perfume Blending and Materia Pick-up Mini Games.
To gain an additional 5 points in Affection, you can do the perfume blending mini game at the market for 300 Gil. Be sure to get the optimal blend each time you attempt it. Try to do this mini game at least twice with the best results to get 10 Affection points.
Be warned that getting the worst kind of blend will reduce your Affection with Aerith by 1 point (for each time you are off the optimal mix by +5 or -5 drops of oil). Simply reload your save and start over if this happens.

Doing the Materia pick-up mini game also lets you earn 5 Affection points each time you finish in 23 seconds or less (fastest time record). Do this twice as well for a total of 10 Affection points.

From this point onward, it is recommended to have reached 80 points in Affection with Aerith before proceeding with the main story.
Progress through Chapter 4
Continue on with the main story until you encounter the monsters at the slums. Take them down and head for the exit to return to Shinra HQ. A cutscene will play and Bruno should comment that you and Aerith “make a good couple.” This should unlock the Good Match for Aerith achievement. You will also receive the Steal Materia from him afterwards.
