New Game Plus (NG+) Guide for Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion
What is New Game Plus (NG+)?
New Game Plus (NG+) is an unlockable game mode in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion (FFVII CC Remaster/Crisis Core Reunion) which lets you replay the entirety of the game’s main story with several features from your first playthrough carried over.
How to Unlock NG+
Beat the Game on Any Difficulty
To access NG+, you simply need to beat the game once on either Normal or Hard difficulty. Afterwards, you can begin a new run of the main story while being able to keep elements like character level, Materia, equipment, items, and money you had when you cleared the game.
Features Carried Over in NG+
Below is a list of features that are carried over when starting a NG+ playthrough.
- Character Level
- Equipment (Accessories)
- Money (Gil)
- Character Memory Progress
Features Not Carried Over in NG+
Below is a list of features that are not carried over or reset when starting a NG+ playthrough.
- DMW Characters (Buffs and Limit Breaks)
- Key Items
- Side Mission Progress (will be reset)
- Opened Chests (will be reset)
- Extra Accessory and Materia Slots
Things to Do in NG+
Play on Hard Mode
Since NG+ lets you carry over several features such as character level, equipment, and money, you will have an easier time against the enhanced enemies and bosses when playing on Hard difficulty. After clearing the main story on Normal, try to aim for the SOLDIER of Legend (Gold trophy) achievement which can only be unlocked by beating the game on Hard.
Obtain missed rewards from Missions you did not do.
You can progress through the game again to clear optional Missions you missed doing in your previous playthrough. Note that many high-level Missions allow you to get useful accessories, including two of the extremely powerful Genji equipment in the game.
Unlock all missed achievements.
NG+ also lets you obtain collection-related trophies and achievements that you failed to unlock during your first playthrough. These include the trophies obtained based on Mission completion progress, DMW image collection, mail collection, and constructing all Flower Wagon types.
What Happens When You Beat NG+?
Completing a NG+ run will unlock NG++ which simply lets you play through the main story yet again. There are no new features or content unlocked for beating NG+ or any subsequent runs other than allowing you to aim for 100% completion (Platinum trophy).
