Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion - Game Difficulty Guide

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion (FFVII CC Remaster/Crisis Core Reunion) features two types of difficulty modes that mainly affects the level of combat by adjusting the strength of enemies encountered throughout the main story.

Game Difficulty Can Be Changed Any Time

Game difficulty can be changed at any time after confirming it at the start of the game. This is done by going to OPTION from the game menu during play.

List of Difficulty Modes

Difficulty Mode Details
Normal The game’s default difficulty setting. Enemies have the standard amount of HP and deal standard damage during battles.
Hard The game’s most challenging difficulty setting. Enemies have greatly increased HP and damage output compared to Normal difficulty.

Which Difficulty Setting Should You Start With?

Normal Mode (Recommended for Beginners)

Beginners and those who have not played the original Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 on the Playstation Portable (PSP) should play the game on Normal difficulty to get a feel for the game’s standard combat level and gameplay mechanics. Afterwards, feel free to play on Hard mode if you feel that enemies encountered during the main story and optional missions are too easy.

Bear in mind that there is a significant jump in difficulty going from Normal to Hard. Just lower the difficulty again to Normal if you find yourself stuck on a tough boss or encounter.

Play on Hard Mode in New Game Plus (NG+)

It is generally recommended to begin a Hard mode run in New Game Plus (NG+) once you have beaten the game on Normal. NG+ lets you carry over several features such as character level, Materia, equipment, items, and money to give you an easier time against the enhanced enemies and bosses encountered throughout the main story.
