Minerva Boss Guide and Tips

Surviving Judgment Arrow

Minerva’s Judgement Arrow attack cannot be guarded or avoided so it is essential that you come into the fight with Zack at the maximum 99999 HP limit. Otherwise, you will get killed instantly even with any Barrier effects activated.

Costly Punch

Minerva’s total HP is a massive 10,000,000 with 201 Vitality and 255 Spirit so you will do very little damage with normal attacks.

To chip away at Minerva much more efficiently, you should have the Costly Punch Command Materia which allows you to deal big damage regardless of the enemy’s defenses and stats by using up a portion of Zack’s own HP. With Genji Gloves and Ziedrich equipped, you will be able to consistently output 99999 damage (the maximum allowable in the game for a single attack) with each use of Costly Punch.

Be sure to watch Zack’s HP while spamming Costly Punch and be ready to cast Curaga or use Elixirs. Having a good stock of Phoenix Downs is also recommended as you are likely to get incapacitated multiple times throughout the fight.

    • SP Master with 10+ million SP and Gil Toss with over 20 million gil… ends in less than 5 minutes and you will lose exactly 0 HP. She could never get her limit break off so I never had to use a phoenix down once!!
