How to Get a Master Ball in Pokemon Brilliant Diammond and Shining Pearl
The Master Ball is the best Pokeball you can get in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (Pokemon BDSP). It allows you to catch any wild Pokemon without fail, making it invaluable for getting Legendary Pokemon during the main story or at any of the rooms in Ramanas Park after beating the game.
Where to Find Master Balls
Team Galactic Headquarters (Veilstone City)
A Master Ball is rewarded for defeating the Team Galactic Leader Cyrus in Team Galactic’s Headquarters. You will, however, need the Galactic Key found in the Team Galactic Warehouse to enter the HQ. Note that you can only reach the Master Ball’s location after defeating Candice, the Gym Leader of Snowpoint City.
Once you have obtained the Galactic Key, use it to go inside Team Galactic HQ and make your way to the building’s 4th floor. Cyrus will challenge you to a battle here. He mainly uses Dark Pokemon which are a Lv.40 Murkrow, Lv.40 Golbat, and Lv.43 Sneasel. Defeat Cyrus to get a Master Ball x1.
TV Station (Jubilife City)
A Master Ball can also be obtained as a prize for the Jubilife TV Station’s lottery. This method of getting a Master Ball relies solely on luck as your Ticket Number should exactly match the ID of one of your Pokemon to actually win the Master Ball. Talk to the girl at the reception desk (Lottery Corner) to enter the lottery.
When Should You Use a Master Ball?
Being an extremely rare item in the game, the Master Ball should only be used to catch Legendary Pokemon or Shiny Pokemon. Most players even treasure the item so much that they will use Ultra Balls to catch Legendaries and Shiny Pokemon instead and simply keep the Master Ball in their bag throughout their playthrough.
