How to Turn Off Autosave in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (Pokemon BDSP) features an autosave feature that will save your current progress whenever you move to a new area (such as a different town or route in the game). While this is a welcome addition for the most part, you may run the risk of having your save file overwritten when you do not want it to.
Turn Off in the Options Menu
To turn off autosave, simply open the game’s Options menu. Scroll down until you see the Autosave option and change the setting to Off to disable autosave. Afterwards, you do not need to worry about having the game save after you accidentally end up defeating Legendary Pokemon (instead of catching them) or use the Master Ball to catch a Starly.
Adjusting the Autosave Settings to Do the Legendary Pokemon Exploit
An exploit to catch Dialga and Palkia an infinite number of times is possible because of the option to manually enable or disable autosave in the game. The bug has not been patched as of this time so you may want to take advantage of it for trading with other players.
