Best Starter Pokemon to Choose

Beat the Game and Obtain the National Pokedex

You can get all the starter Pokemon from Generations 1 to 4 of the series in the Grand Underground’s different Pokemon Hideaway biomes in the game. To do this, you must have beaten the game and already obtained the National Pokedex by seeing all Pokemon in the Sinnoh Region Pokedex.

How to Unlock National Pokedex

Travel to the Fight Area from Snowpoint City

Once you have cleared the main story and obtained the National Pokedex, you must make your way to the Fight Area (where the Battle Park is) which can be accessed by sailing east from Snowpoint City (Dock). After arriving on the Fight Area, head to the Grand Underground.

Look at your map in the Grand Underground to find several colored squares. These represent specific Pokemon Hideaway biomes where Gen 1 to 4 starters can be found.

Grand Underground Biomes

Below is a list of Grand Underground biomes and the starter Pokemon that appear in each.

Biome Pokemon that Appear
