How to Get the Shiny Charm in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
What is the Shiny Charm?
The Shiny Charm is a key item that doubles your chances of encountering Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (Pokemon BDSP). This makes it a must-have item when you want to spend time Shiny hunting, especially during the post-game stages.

Complete the National Pokedex First
It is only possible to obtain the Shiny Charm after seeing all Pokemon found in the National Pokedex (National Mode). This is no easy feat since the National Pokedex itself can only be unlocked after you have encountered all Pokemon in the Sinnoh Pokedex. After doing so, talk to Professor Rowan at Pal Park who will give you the Poke Radar. Professor Oak will also show up, giving you the National Pokedex.
How to Unlock National Pokedex
Head to the Grand Lake Hotel
Once you have seen all Pokemon listed in the National Pokedex, head to Hotel Grand Lake and talk to the Game Freak Director inside to get the Shiny Charm.
