Secret Red Pipe Locations

What are Red Pipes?

Red Pipes are secret passages or warp points that allow you to travel to other Worlds, akin to “shortcuts.” Note that you will need the Cat suit to reach them in the game.

Shortcut #1

World 1-2 to World 2

In World 1-2 (Koopa Troopa Cave), progress further past the midpoint flag until you reach the area with the mystery beam. Get on the beam and jump to your right to reveal another mystery beam that is invisible.

Jump to your right again to reveal yet another one to reach the upper area with a Koopa Troopa patrolling. Take out the Koopa and walk a little to the right of the open pipe in the wall. Face the fall and climb up using the Cat suit to find the Red Pipe going to World 2.

Shortcut 2

World 4-2 to World 5

Pass the midpoint flag from the underground section until you exit through a pipe. You will see a transparent box on the wall of the cliff. Jump on the box and climb up the cliff wall to find some round pieces of earth slowly falling down the poisonous waterfall. Cross the waterfall by walking on the round pieces of earth to the other side to find the Red Pipe that will take you to World 5.
