Glinthawk Stats and Strategy Guide [Horizon Zero Dawn]

This article contains strategies and stats for the Glinthawk

The Glinthawk is a scavenger in the wild. Similar to the Scrapper, the Glinthawk takes out dead machines. When it swoops down, it takes up the pieces of the obsolete machines and recycles the metal. Because of its speed, it can be quite hard to catch and target especially as it flies in the sky. However, it does have some weaknesses such as its beak and Freeze Sac.

Strategy

When bringing down a Glinthawk, the first to take note is their vulnerability to fire. Their bodies will sustain heavy damage after a a few good fire arrows. However, the one thing you’ll really want to target is their Freeze Sac. Destroying it not only means disabling their ranged Freeze attack but it’s also the largest and easiest weak point to hit. When you land a hit successfully and consecutively, the Glinthawk will fall closer to the ground. When it finally hits the ground, bolt towards it and land a critical hit using R1. Do this however when the three stars in a circle symbol appears next to their health gauge.

After a few more fire arrows and a critical hit, the Glinthawks are grounded. Just land a few blows using regular arrows to either its Beak or Freeze Sac to put it out of its misery.

  1. I see a glinthawk with green on it’s back. Tried shooting it off with harvesting arrows but nothing happened. What is green-backed glinthawk?
