Main Quest Walkthrough – Mother’s Heart
Objective #1 – Talk to Rost at Mother’s Heart

The goal is quite simple, just follow the straight path ahead until you reach Rost at the Mother’s Heart entrance. There will also be Strider along the path, so you can loot them for Metal Shards.
Objective #2 – Enter Mother’s Heart and Talk to Your “Old Friend”
An old woman named High Matriarch Teersa will be speaking to you once you enter Mother’s Heart. Teersa will ask you to talk to an old friend of yours, so follow the next quest marker until you reach that person.

Your old friend will give an outfit to wear for the Proving, so make sure to equip it before moving forward to the next objective.
Objective #3 – Go to Matriarch’s Lodge
Before heading towards the quest marker, you may enjoy the festivities going on around the area. After talking to people and taking part in activities in Mother’s Heart, head to the lodge.

After a cutscene, Aloy’s Focus will pick up a signal. Use the Focus ability to find a person with a Focus, who is located to the right of the stage. A conversation with the man will commence once you approach him.

Speak to Teersa after your conversation with the man. She will give you a lantern so that you will be able to participate in the ceremony. After the ceremony, you can either go to the Hunter’s Lodge to sleep or you can also find Olin nearby and talk to him.
Talk to the hunter outside the door of the Hunter’s Lodge and he will let you through inside the lodge. A conversation will commence once you go inside.
