Side Quest Walkthrough – Heap of Trouble
The Side Quest is initiated by talking to Petra at Free located northeast of Carja territories. It is near the border with the Sacred Lands.
Go to the Bandit Lair
After speaking to Petra, head for the Bandit Lair indicated on the Quest Marker. Take note that as you approach the encampment (at about 100m), there will be bandits patrolling the path towards your destination. Use the spots of tall grass nearby and stay low. You’ll want to use Silent Strikes as much as possible to avoid any unwanted detection. As you arrive at the layer, make your way up on to the upper level by either climbing up the ramp or the post. Be sure to check your surroundings as you go up, as a bandit will be on patrol on the platform near the post.
Take out the bandit, then head for the inclined bridge at the highest point of the encampment (it will have a spot which you can rappel down from). Before going down, you can scan the area below to keep track of all the enemies nearby. You can also try to snipe from here if you want.
Collect the Power Cells
You’ll need to follow each Quest Marker for every one of the Power Cells in the area. Two of them are fairly easy to obtain, while one is on a really tall building. While it may seem difficult to find a way up the building and to the last Power Cell, all you need to do is climb the wall on the image below.
Go to the Scrapper Den / Recover the Weapon Parts
After collecting all the Power Cells, head for the Quest Marker again. As the objective suggests, the next area will have some Scrappers lurking about. As you get on the wooden platform overlooking the Scrapper Den below, you can try to shoot two Scrappers nearby safe from that spot. Then, jump down and follow the Quest Markers to the weapon parts.
The Scrapper’s Den has a fair amount of hiding spots to avoid being detected by the machines. You can hide in the tall spots of grass on the very edge of the area if you see too many enemies ahead.
Return to Petra / Protect Free Heap
Once you’ve collected the weapon parts, head back to Petra. After the conversation, the bandits will appear and attack Free Heap. Pick up the Oseram Cannon and shoot at the base of the bridge on your right to stop the enemy’s assault. The bridge will come crashing down on them. Afterwards, talk to Petra. You will receive 4250 XP as a reward for completing the Side Quest.
