Version Differences in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (Pokemon BDSP) feature several version differences that make it crucial to decide which version to get. These variations are mostly the type of Pokemon encountered during the main story.
Flagship Legendary Pokemon
The most obvious differences between Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is their flagship Legendary Pokemon. Brilliant Diamond allows you to obtain the Steel/Dragon Pokemon Dialga while Shining Pearl lets you get the Water/Dragon Pokemon Palkia.

Since it is only possible to obtain one Dialga or Palkia during your entire playthrough, it may be hard to acquire the other flagship Legendary Pokemon through trading with other players (at least through regular means and not using a particular exploit). Because of this, try to decide between getting Dialga or Palkia ahead of time before getting either Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl.
Ramanas Park Legendary Pokemon
Ramanas Park is a new area introduced in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl where Legendary Pokemon from past titles in the series also appear. To summon these Pokemon, you must acquire key items called Legendary Slates and place them in the various rooms of the park that correspond to each Legendary Pokemon.
Below is a list of Legendary Pokemon that appear in Ramanas Park in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
