How to Ride Chocobos Guide for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (FF7 Rebirth)
How to Ride a Chocobo
Unlike in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, where chocobos can only be used for fast travel, here in the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, they can finally be mounted and used to travel the massive open world of the game. Pressing the R1 button will summon the chocobo with the use of the Chocobo Whistle. Once the chocobo appears, simply approach it and ride it.
However, despite being available automatically in the demo version of the game, the Chocobo Whistle may not be acquired instantly in the actual game, and it may require you to progress through the main story before getting your hands on the item.

Types of Chocobo
There are various types of Chocobos in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and they all possess unique abilities such as gliding through air, jumping high, and climbing mountains. Below are the Chocobo types that have been confirmed in the game.
Chocobo

The iconic yellow chocobo that appears in most of the Final Fantasy titles. They are commonly used for land transportation, but they can also be used to participate in the Chocobo Racing mini-game.
Sky Chocobo
These chocobos can soar through the sky by taking off from high places. They can be used to traverse the sky and reach valleys or peaks easier.
Mountain Chocobo
Mountain Chocobos have sharp talons that can climb up slopes with special markings. Some places are inaccessible by foot, but with the help of these chocobos, you will be able to reach them in no time.
Ocean Chocobo
Ocean Chocobos have the ability to use strong water streams to cross seas, rivers, and other bodies of water. By using their ability, you can get to places that cannot be reached on foot or unveil secret treasures from hidden areas near the water.
Forest Chocobo
Forest Chocobos specialize in navigating forests, as they can jump from huge mushrooms and tree branches. With the use of their abilities, you can also have a good look at the area and might find secret treasures and other collectibles.
