How to Play the Second Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (FF7 Rebirth) Demo
Automatically added to the demo title screen via game update on February 21.
The second playable demo of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (FF7 Rebirth) called Dawn of a New Era in Junon becomes playable automatically from the demo title screen after the February 21 update.
No need to download a separate demo on the Playstation Store (PS Store) to play.
As the Junon section is simply an update to the demo, there is no need to download a separate file from the Playstation Store (PS Store) to access the additional trial version episode.
How to Download the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Demo
Requires clearing the first demo Fall of a Hero in Nibelheim to play.
Note that you must have cleared the first part of the demo titled Fall of a Hero in Nibelheim to begin the follow-up trial version.
This essentially requires you to have viewed the ending cutscenes to the previous demo episode in Nibelheim and have reached the “Thank you for playing” screen.

Afterwards, the Dawn of a New Era in Junon episode will be added once you return to the game’s title screen.
Demo Part 2: Dawn of a New Era in Junon Features
Explorable Junon Area
The second part of the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Demo lets you explore the modernized version of the Junon area from the original Playstation 1 title.
Following a group of mysterious robed figures through the Mythril Mine, Cloud and his party reach the vast mountainous location where new enemies appear.
Playable Characters
The follow-up trial version also gives you control of the game’s main characters which are Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Barret, and Red XIII. Of note is the last party member who makes his playable debut for the upcoming title in this demo.

New Battle Mechanics
Players will also get a taste of new combat changes applied to each returning character, including specific Synergy Abilities and Synergy Skills, and unique commands in battle.
New Chocobo Mount Feature
Cloud and his party also gain access to mounts after meeting the Chocobo Belle. Riding these iconic avians will make exploring wide stretches of land easier as they have in many Final Fantasy titles in the past.

Does Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Second Demo Progress Carry Over to the Full Game?
Does not carry over.
As confirmed from official sources, progress in the second demo cannot be transferred to the full game upon its release.
Note that the explorable Junon area included in the the follow-up trial version is different from the one that will appear in the full game. The former has more limited features to simply allow players a hands-on previous the Junon section of the game’s main story.
