Slipstream Saber allows Cloud to perform the weapon ability Counterstance which lets him enter a defensive posture before unleashing a retaliating slash attack at the enemy. Battle Cry is the strongest gun arm for Barrett at an impressive 88 physical attack and 65 in magic attack. This weapon allows Barret’s naturally amazing ATB gain rate to also produce amazing results even with normal attacks and Overcharging.
Battle Cry lets Barret equip 6 materia (1 Link) which is more than enough to make him fit any role in battle.
Barret gains access to Turbulent Spirit when equipped with Battle Cry, granting him unsurpassed ATB charge rate to immediately constantly magic spells, commands, abilities, and even Summon attacks.

The Brisingamen’s excellent magic attack power allows Red XIII to easily wipe out regular enemies or quickly stagger bosses by exploiting elemental weaknesses.

Crystalline Cross is the strongest throwing star weapon for Yuffie which grants her a massive 119 attack but only a meager 40 in magic attack. It also allows Yuffie to equip up to 6 materia (1 link) which is more than enough to work during the game’s late stages.
Crystalline Cross comes with the Banishment weapon ability which bestows a good boost in Yuffie’s damage output when spending ATB on other abilities. The best weapon for Cait Sith is Gjallarhorn which boats the highest attack stat out of all weapons in the game at 136. It has only 34 magic attack which is negligible anyway since Cait Sith’s natural stats does not lend itself well to focusing on spellcasting anyway.
The real draw of Gjallarhorn, however, is its Lady Luck weapon ability which greatly increase the critical rate of all allies in battle. This works incredibly well with high physical DPS characters like Cloud, Barret, and Tifa who can perform combos using normal attacks or have powerful abilities that hit multiple times.
