Chapter 6 Walkthrough Summary
Costa del Sol
| Watch the cutscene. Afterwards, go to the Tourist Information Center (Discovery) and talk to the woman there. |
---|---|
| Ask for a hotel in the area. Then, go to The Royal Coast and talk to the attendant there. |
| Form here, go to the Costa del Sol Resort. Talk to the attendant there as well. |
| As you explore the area, you will find Yuffie by the ice cream truck which is also the Vanishing Act Discovery. Talk to her to initiate her first relationship dialogue event. |
| You will run into Johnny soon during the main story scenario. Afterwards, go with him to his hotel. |
| Go to the room in the hotel to leave your weapon. |
| Return to the resort and agree to do the Card Carnival and Pirate’s Rampage mini games. You need to clear these successfully to get a companion card for buying some beach clothes for Cloud. |
| To begin Card Carnival, talk to Regina. Pirate’s Rampage, meanwhile, can be started by talking to Barret. |
| Once you get a companion card (or both), go to the Beachwear Exchange Booth (marked as a Discovery) to change into beachwear. |
| From here, go to the beach by following the quest marker. |
| When you gain control of Aerith, leave the room. Afterwards, look for Tifa in the other room. |
| After the scene, you will need to get beach outfits for Aerith and Tifa as well. Similar to Cloud, you get beach clothes for both girls by doing mini games. |
| To get beachwear for Aerith, you can do the Run Wild mini game at the Run Wild Animal Playground. It can be started by going southwest of the map. |
| Cactuar Caper is another mini game to get another outfit for Aerith. You can begin this mini game near the Card Carnival Booth. |
| For Tifa, you must clear the Royal Coast Concert or the Wheelie Rendezvous mini games. The first is found at the Royal Coast hotel while Wheelie Rendezvous can be played at the Costa del Sol entrance. |
| Once you get beach outfits for Tifa and Aerith, head to the beach. |
| Watch the cutscenes. Afterwards, choose to fight the monsters that appear with either Aerith and Red XIII or Barret and Tifa. Note that the team you choose to help will let you gain relationship points for them. This also determines who will be in your party when you fight the boss. |
| Take the enemies. Afterwards, prepare to battle Grasptropod. |
| As Grasptropod is a mechanical enemy, it will be weak to lightning so equipping Lightning materia will make it easy to stagger it during the fight. You can also have Cloud pummel it with Firebolt Blade to exploit its weakness.
Be ready with Antidotes as well to cure any allies of poison when the boss uses its Sublimated Toxin move. Be sure to pull back and heal up using magic or items if you need to, especially if you get hit with Drill Run or Breakneck Spin too often. Grasptropod will eventually use Subject Retrieval to permanently remove one party member from battle. Soon, even Cloud will be captured, though this is part of the fight. Yuffie will intervene to assist you so close out the fight using a Limit Break if you can use it already. |
| After the boss fight, a cutscene will play. Afterwards, talk to your allies to trigger relationship dialogue events with them. |
| Once you are done talking to the party, talk to Barret by the stairs to return to the hotel. |
| Yuffie will ask to join you the next morning at the hotel. The conversation that plays out with her is another relationship dialogue event so agree to take her to increase your bond with her. |
