2 | Head to the quest marker at the park and watch the cutscene. |
3 | Clear the 3D Brawler mini game tutorial. If you beat Dio, your relationship with Red XIII will increases. |
4 | Move forward. Then, go with Barret to the Ghost Square area. |
5 | Watch the cutscene. |
6 | Go to the hotel and talk to the attendant at the reception desk. |
7 | Go up to your room via the elevator. |
8 | Examine the bed. |
Interlude Part 1
1 | When you gain control of Zack again, head left and leave the room. |
---|---|
2 | Head down the stairs for a cutscene. |
Gold Saucer Part 2
1 | After regaining control of Cloud, head for the door to meet your date. |
---|---|
2 | Do not forget to cross the bridge from Park Square to find Steadfast Block materia. |
3 | From here, you must take your date each of the various attractions in Gold Saucer which are essentially the mini games you can do in the area. Clearing the mini games or scoring high in them will reward you with GP that you can trade for useful items such as equipment and materia. |
4 | The mini games to check out here are Gold Saucer Queen’s Blood, G-Bike and 3D Brawler in Wonderment Square. |
5 | There is also Galactic Saviors in Speed Square, Musclehead Colosseum in Battle Square, and Chocobo Racing in Chocobo Square. |
6 | You can also visit the Loveless theater at Event Square to get HP Up Materia. |
7 | Finish up the tour by stopping at Skywheel Square. Be sure to go here only if you are done with any mini games you want to do here as progressing past this point will prevent you from going back to exploring Gold Saucer for a while. |
8 | After a cutscene, go to the Battle Square by talking to the Guide Moogle. |
9 | Follow the quest marker at the Musclehead Colosseum. |
10 | Follow Cait Sith to the elevator to reach the Dustbowl. |
Dustbowl – Corel Desert
1 | After the cutscene, you must win in the Chocobo Race to find clues on the wanted fugitive. |
---|---|
2 | Head to the location of your mount. Be sure to open the chest along the way to get Umbral Blade (Cloud weapon). |
3 | You need to feed Piko at least 3 Greens for him to have the strength to race. The item is rewarded for clearing any of the 6 activities in the Dustbowl. |
4 | As mentioned, you just need to give Piko 3 Greens for him to be able to race. It is however recommended to get all 6 clear them all as the excess Greens you get can be traded in for Chocobo gear to help you win. |
5 | Talk to the Dustbowl merchant to play Desert Rush which is essentially the Whack-a-Box mini game from the previous remake title. Clear it to get some Greens. |
6 | Go past the 3 men who call out to you near the notice board. Then, head right to find an area with a chest containing 1,500 Gil. |
7 | Continue along the alleyway. Then, prepare to battle the men who were calling out to you from before. Doing so will reward you with Greens. |
8 | There is also a card collector here who will ask you to beat 3 Queen’s Blood players at the nearby casino. You will get more Greens as reward for doing so. Beating the Queen’s Blood players will also let you obtain the Thug, Joker, and Death Claw cards from each of them. |
9 | You can get more Greens by talking to the bartender near the notice board. Once he gives you the key to the garden, use it to enter the area and get the Greens.
Enter the garden and take out the enemies there. When the Cactuar steals the Greens, follow it to an area where the path forks. Take the one on the left to find a chest with Mega Potion x2. Then, return to the fork and take the path on the right. Take more enemies that appear. Continue following the Cactuar by using the grapple hook to swing around the area. Take out more enemies along the way until our encounter another fork in the road. Take the one on that strays from the quest marker to get Poison materia. Head for the quest marker again to find a group of Cactuar. Take them out and pick up the Greens. |
10 | Return to the Dustbowl. Then, head southeast and talk to the man and begin the swindling seminar. From here, it is recommended to save as you will need to look for NPCs in the area and guess which one of them is lying. Each guess will cost you 500 Gil so just reload if you lose too much money. Clear this section to get more greens. |
10 | Return to where Piko is and feed him the 3 Greens. Then, talk to Esther to get parts of the Gi Chocobo gear set if you have any more of the item. |
11 | To begin the race, talk to Garth by the pen. Then, follow Esther. |
12 | Try practicing first to get the hang of Chocobo Racing and its mechanics. When you are ready, save your game and head for the door to begin a tutorial on Chocobo stats and gear effects. |
13 | After winning the Chocobo race, talk to Gus at the Dustbowl. Then, head for the quest marker while taking out the enemies along the way. |
14 | When you reach the desert, a bird will appear. Follow it to the next area. |
15 | When you find Barret, move forward towards the structure. Then, head right to find a chest with Vulcan Cannon (Barret weapon) inside. |
16 | Head for the quest marker. Then, use the rest stop to recover HP and MP. Be sure to have Barret equipped with Fire materia as you will need to deal with the boss one-on-one using him. |
17 | Move forward to the quest marker and prepare to battle Dyne. |
18 | Keep your distance from Dyne and use Fire magic to build up his stagger gauge. Be sure to get behind the metal scrap to protect you from most of his attacks.
Pepper Dyne with normal attacks and Overcharge to gain ATB. Then, bombard him with Magic and ranged abilities. Be ready to dodge or run away when Dyne winds up Paralysing Shot or Paralysing Wave as the metal scrap will not protect you from them. When Dyne starts setting up mines, position yourself away from them to avoid taking damage. Dyne will eventually use the metal in the area to new attacks to use against you. Shoot the scrap metal to destroy them (disabling Dyne’s new moves) and build up his stagger gauge. Do not hesitate to use items to heal during this fight as your MP is better off saved for blasting Dyne with fire spells. Finally, reserve your Limit Break when Dyne is staggered to maximize your damage against him. |
19 | When you regain control of Cloud, try to equip the party with Lightning materia. Then, move forward past the rest stop to battle Anuran Suppressor. |
20 | As with most Shinra construct, Anuran Suppressor is weak to lightning to throw out lightning magic to build up its stagger gauge.
Once you have dealt enough damage to the boss using magic and abilities, it will flip over. When this happens, focus all attacks on the cockpit. During the second phase of the fight, Anuran Suppressor will gain two new targetable parts which are its Left Leg and Right Leg. Take these down to render it helpless again and unload on it. |
Interlude Part 2
1 | When you regain control of Zack, just follow the straight path. |
---|---|
2 | A cutscene will play when an explosion occurs. |
3 | Follow the quest marker to the source of the explosion. |
