What are Relationship Lines?
Relationship Lines are a series of sub events in Hogwarts Legacy that are tied to unique companion characters you can befriend throughout the main story. Progressing through a Relationship Line will allow you to obtain various rewards such as experience (XP), spells, and other useful features.
How to Unlock Relationship Lines
You can unlock Relationship Lines after befriending any of the three Companion character during the game’s main story.

Does completing the Relationship Line result in romance?
No romance options based on official gameplay trailers and announcements.
Clearing a Companion’s Relationship Line is not likely to allow you to romance characters as there seems to be no romance options featured in various gameplay trailers and other official material. More information on this will be added when they are confirmed in the game.

It is possible to clear all Relationship Lines specific to Natsai, Sebastian, and Poppy to unlock The Avenging Gazelle, A Sallow Grave, and Beast Friends achievements in one playthrough. You can also befriend all Companion characters and do their quest lines without getting locked out of the others.
List of All Companion Relationship Lines
Natsai Onai
Natsai Onai is a female student from Gryffindor House. Prior to transferring to Hogwarts, she attended the African wizarding school Uagadou in Uganda and learned to become an Animagus. Natsai then enrolls at Hogwarts School of Witchraft and Wizardy in Scotland when her mother becomes a professor of Divination.

Sebastian Sallow
Sebastian Sallow is a male student from Slytherin House. He is from a family with a troubled secret that has yet to be revealed in the game. After a tragic encounter with goblin Ranrok which left Sebastian’s sister seriously ill, Sebastian begins a mission to learn the Dark Arts which he believes can save his sibling.
