In Hogwarts Legacy, you can obtain a flying broom that you can use to travel faster in open areas or participate in Broom Races throughout the game.

Hogwarts Legacy - Albie Weekes

To get a flying broom, you need to progress through the main story until you are able to clear the Flying Class section. Afterwards, head to Hogsmeade and go to Sprintwitches Sporting Needs to buy a flying broom. Note that each item costs 600 Galleons (in-game currency) so you may need to spend time farming money clearing other quests or selling off unwanted gear to buy it.

Hogwarts Legacy Best Flying Broom and Upgrades

Ride the broom by opening the item selector wheel.

To ride your flying broom, open the item quick select the wheel, and press the broomstick’s assigned button (L1 + ◯ on the PlayStation 5, LB + B on the Xbox Series X/S, and L + A on the Nintendo Switch).

Note that you cannot ride your broom in certain areas such as dungeons and various areas inside Hogwarts Castle.

Required to obtain the Flight the Good Flight (Silver trophy) achievement.

You will need a flying broom to participate in the Broom Race mini-games. Among the game’s achievements are Flight the Good Flight (Silver trophy) which requires you to beat Imelda’s time in all Broom Races so you will need a flying broom to get 100% completion (Platinum trophy).
