Money Farming Guide for Hogwarts Legacy
In Hogwarts Legacy, the primary form of currency is Galleons which used to purchase items from shops and avail of other services in the game. While going through the game’s main story, try to spend time farming money so you can freely spend on things you need to help you on quests and other optional content.
Ways to Earn Money
Open chests.
You can get money by opening chests that appear in various areas of the game. Gear and other loot can also be obtained in chests that you can sell off for more money.
Special containers called eye chests that automatically close when you approach them can also be found all throughout the game. To open these chests, you need to use either the Invisibility Potion or Disillusionment Spell to become undetectable. Eye chests can hold around 500 Galleons so it is worth spending time to open them to earn lots of money.
Sell unwanted gear.
As you progress through the game, you will obtain various gear as loot from enemies or from chests. To earn some money, try selling pieces of equipment that are weaker than those you currently have on.
Since you start the game with only 20 gear inventory slots, it is recommended to offload as many unused gear as you can to prevent them from taking up valuable space. You can increase your maximum gear slots by clearing Challenges related to Merlin Trials.

Rescue and sell beasts.
Among the best ways to farm money fast is by selling rescued or bred beasts to Brood and Peck in Hogsmeade. You can start getting saving these mythical creatures after clearing the main story quest The Elf, the Nab-Sack, and the Loom.
A rescued beast usually fetches 120 Galleons which is quite a decent amount. You can farm as many beasts as you can by going around the different beast dens or by breeding them in the Room of Requirement.
How to Farm Money By Selling Beast
Clear the main story quest The Elf, the Nab-Sack, and the Loom.
To begin farming sellable beasts, you need to finish the main story quest The Elf, the Nab-Sack, and the Loom. Doing so also unlocks the gear upgrade feature which will become increasingly useful as you take on tougher quests throughout the game.
Go to Mooncalf Den.
Found northwest of Hogwarts past the Quidditch grounds is Mooncalf Den where Mooncalves can be rescued. Use the Floo Flame to easily fast travel to and from the area to speed up the process.
Capture a Mooncalf at night time.
Once you arrive at Mooncalf Den, advance the time to night and start rescuing Mooncalfs. You can find about 8 of them during the dark hours so try spending 3 nights to fill up your beast inventory. To quickly advance the time from day to night, open the map and press the R3 button.
Sell the beasts to Brood and Peck in Hogsmeade.
Head to Brood and Peck in Hogsmeade to sell the beasts you rescued. Brood and Peck can be found in the north section of Hogsmeade near the Floo Flame.
