Side Quest Walkthrough – The Forgotten

Objective #1 Go to Brom’s Camp

Turn around and cross the blue rope tied bridge to follow the destination marker. Pick up any resources you find along the way such as Ridge Wood pieces and Rock. Eventually you will encounter a patrolling Scrapper, if you sneak carefully you may deliver a Stealth Kill to save on ammunition and heals in exchange for parts. Traverse past the river and hide behind the concrete, stay down and wait for the Scrapper to come near then ambush it from the side for a coup de grace. Return to the fort to avoid alerting the other patrolling Scrapper, then repeat for another Stealth Kill. Collect all the parts from their remains, then continue to follow the marking.

Kill the Watchers

Cross the bridge with the torch, then drop down from the platform and follow the dim path. Sprint along the river, then stay low by the rocks. Try to lure one of the Watchers to take them out smoothly. Search the remains each time for some parts as you go. Repeat this process for the other Watchers that have settled around the camp. Prepare for another Stealth Kill to the side as you approach the campfire tent then loot its remains.

Investigate Brom’s Camp: Search the Camp for the Blood Trail

Get to the campfire to examine it, this opens up an additional task for you to fulfill. Pay attention to the blood stained prints then use your Focus to reveal the blood covered path which should lead up the mountains. Inspect the bloodstained knife to open a new task.

Examine the Knife

Bring up the Focus once again to find the path marked with blood, the fallen tree trunk ahead should direct you to the route.

Follow the Blood Trail: Examine the Bucket

Stay close to the right side to cross the tapering ledge. At the end of the path is a bucket, inspect the contents to obtain more clues. Aloy notes that the bloody path stops here.

Follow the Tracks

Execute the Focus once again to reveal a path of footprints, follow it closely as you go downwards. Keep going straight ahead, and it will eventually continue upwards, requiring you to climb up the broken ladder embellished with yellow knots. Pull yourself up, then follow the tracks but be warned as more Watchers have gathered here. Crouch low, and if you could afford it, perform a Silent Strike. Should your presence alert the other Watchers nearby, you could perform several Quick Rolls then bait them one by one. After clearing the area, loot the machines for some parts before you proceed back on track. Keep going to discover a Campfire settlement nearby. Note the monument nearby.

Examine the Shrine

Inspect the landmark for some clues. Keep moving to get through some vegetation, stay down to avoid being ambushed by some Scrappers then plan your moves wisely.

Kill the Scrappers

Get behind them by circling around while crouched. Try to distract the farther one with an arrow, then execute a Stealth Kill on the lone Scrapper. Pursue the remaining Scrapper from behind with another Stealth Kill as it cautiously approaches the Arrow you just left off. Do a 180 degree turn, then check for the remains of a Watcher.

Examine the Destroyed Watcher

Inspect the nearby machines to obtain some hints, then loot them for some parts.

Scan the area again with Focus to bring up the footprints. As you reach some boulders, grab the Medicinal Wild Ember then if you prefer, you may opt to eliminate the roaming Scrapper on your left with a Stealth Kill by waiting for it to approach as you conceal yourself inside the scarlet plant patches. Once the coast is clear, return to the tracks, note that the purple prints end by the boulder. Upon closer examination, it reveals that the path continues at the higher platform. Thus, climb the left boulder to obtain more clues.

Examine the Supply Cache

Drop down and scan the area to find that the prints continue down below. Head straight ahead then pick up the Fast Travel Pack along the way. Watch for the prints closely, eventually you will pass by the bridge as you go, this directs you to the boulder that you need to climb. Pull yourself up the first concrete, then shimmy to the left, jump and grab the adjacent ledge. Proceed to grab onto the ledge on top then climb up to reach the path leading to the rest of the markers. A cutscene will play, try to talk him out of it humbly.
