Frontier Ship: First Phase Upgrades

Instead of buying new ships immediately, you can build over your starter ship, the Frontier, during the early game. The Frontier has a capacity for two members of your crew and can be start upgrading for a price of 4,382 credits.

Phase 1: Customize the Hab, Landing Gear, and Cargo Holds

1 Click the rear of the cockpit “Nova Galactic Frontier 2 x 1” and press [DELETE].
2 Open the components screen by pressing [G], then install the “Nova Galactic Engineering Bay 31” hab and attach the cockpit.
3 Install the “NG-10 landing gear” in front of the hub (you don’t have to modify the position of the landing gear, but you should because it appears imbalanced).
4 Open the parts screen by pressing [G] and install two cargo “Caravelle V102 cargo holds” on the hub (click and press [Z] to turn over).

Frontier Ship: Second Phase Upgrades

Spend up to 40,441 credits to update the Frontier’s Cargo Compartment as well as its mobility. Improving its mobility involves changed in the Hab Landing Gears and Cargo Holds.

Phase 2: Customize the Hab, Landing Gear, and Cargo Holds

1 Install the Nova Galactic Vault 31 in front of the Nova Galactic Engineering Bay 11 and reconnect the cockpit.
2 Bring the Nova Cover 1L-TF to the front.
3 Add the “Nova Galactik All-in-One Sleeper 2 x 1” to the vacant space.
4 Swap the “Caravelle V102 cargo hold” and “NG-10 landing gear” (both left and right) front and back.
5 Add the “Caravelle V102 cargo hold” beside the first “Caravelle V102 cargo hold”.
6 Place the White Dwarf 1020 engines over the two landing gears.
7 Install the “1CB landing gear” in front of the lower hub (both left and right).
8 Change the Grab Jump to the “R-2000 Alpha Grab Drive”.
9 Change the reactor into “”134MM Toroidal Reactor”.

How to expand the Cargo Hold

Install a Cargo Hold

Adding a Cargo Hold using Ship Builder, as mentioned above, increases the capacity that can be stowed in the cargo compartment.

Learn and master the Payload skill

The tech skill “Payload” is useful in improving the Cargo Hold capacity by 10%, and by 50% in rank 4.

Because you can enhance the capacity by adding more Cargo Holds, this skill is less priority.
