If you look closely, a captured Lava Bubble has Mario’s signature mustache and hat.

Here are the actions (and restrictions) that you can perform with a captured Lava Bubble:

Mario is capable of flying which allows him to reach hard to reach Coin Rings.
While controlling the creature, he must always keep swimming in lava. Otherwise, he’ll return back to his natural plumber state.
Mario can skim over the pink goop in the Luncheon Kingdom.
Mario can make use of Magmatos’ hot puddle of Salsa while in Lava Mario form.
Capturing this creature will make it easy to beat the Cookatiel.
When in lava, Mario can jump by pressing B. To dash, press L or Y.
If Mario ends up in a pot, it will heat up and grant him a Power Moon.
