Super Mario Odyssey Wiki (Walkthrough and Strategy Guide)
This is a Super Mario Odyssey Wiki and Strategy Guide page containing walkthroughs, strategy guides, tips and tricks for the new platform adventure game developed by Nintendo EPD and published Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. It will be released on Q4 (Winter) 2017.
Game Overview
Super Mario Odyssey is a platform adventure game developed by Nintendo EPD and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. The beloved Super Mario series dates back to its beginnings as a 2D side-scrolling game and upon the release of Super Mario Bros., had established its place as among the most recognizable franchises in gaming today.
As the latest entry to the Mario line of games, Super Odyssey will adopt full 3D graphics and allow players to freely explore a large open-world or sandbox environment similar to Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine. Many stages will be inspired by real-world locations, such as “New Donk City” which is heavily based on New York City. As the first actual Mario game continuing the tradition of platform-style gameplay on the Nintendo Switch, the game is among the most-anticipated this year!
Each of the stages in Super Mario Odyssey is an open-world environment where the player has the freedom of fulfilling the objectives using various methods.
Several Stars are scattered in these locations, and it will be up to the player to decide how he or she intends to collect them throughout the game.
Most other Mario games have had only one Star for each level, with the prime objective being to obtain the symbolic item within a specified time limit. This is one of the key differences of Super Mario Odyssey from earlier entries. We’ll be adding more information about the game regularly, so check back from time to time.

Game to Take Spotlight in Nintendo E3 2017 Show (June 5, 2017)

Story
While the open-world gameplay of Super Mario Odyssey is amazing, the game will feature the series’ traditional narrative – of course, Princess Peach is kidnapped again.
The story gets a bit more interesting because Bowser (King Koopa) has kidnapped the princess to marry her. As seen in the image above, Bowser is dressed up for their wedding. Racing against time, Mario departs on another adventure out of the Mushroom Kingdom to stop Bowser and once again save the princess.
While Super Mario Odyssey fufills the same basic storyline of most Mario games, there are actually titles that do not involve the princess being kidnapped.
Stages
Among the most anticipated stages in the game may very well be New Donk City, owing to it’s design being based on New York City. Expect to see many skyscrapers, taxi cabs and multitudes of passerby along the streets of the bustling metropolis.
Aside from that, there are many other fantastic stages in the game that players will enjoy visiting. Again, certain elements of realism will be present as well to complement the fantasy in the game.
New Feature
An interesting new feature implied in the game trailer for Super Mario Odyssey is the appearance of a pair of eyes on Mario’s hat. It is fun to remember that in Super Mario 64, Mario’s hat appeared as a source of power for the hero, as losing it will cause him to take more damage when attacked. However, as seen in the trailer, it’s possible that the hat will play a more active role in the game – either as a throwing weapon or something entirely different.
