Best characters for beginners guide for HoloCure, including recommended VTuber characters to choose for new players, each character's recommendation level, and reasons and evaluation of their unique skills and performance in the game. HoloCure (2022), a VTuber game, was released last June 24, 2022, and is now playable on PC via Microsoft Windows. The game is still under development.

Character	Beginner Recommendation
Watson Amelia	★★★★☆
Watson Amelia	Bubba, which can pick up EXP from far away while allowing Amelia to continue taking down enemies, is an excellent skill. Special attack can be used against regular enemies and bosses and is good for any situation. Amelia may be a little hard to use because of the need to occasionally resort to evasive countermeasures. She also does not have any HP recovery or increased movement speed skills.
Gawr Gura	★★★★★
Gawr Gura	Excellent survivability with Shark Bite skill that recovers HP and Short Height skill that has a chance to grant invincibility and increased movement speed when attacked. Strong Power of Atlantis skill can restrain enemies for a good duration. Everything from her firepower, endurance, and mobility is very good. She is a very easy-to-use character.
Ninomae Ina’nis	★★★★☆
Ninomae Ina’nis	Known for her Ancient One skill that can kill enemies instantly. The Void skill reduces the movement speed of all nearby enemies, making it easier to slip between or past them. You can push away enemies with her special attack Tako Spin which is useful when you are surrounded or when you want to grab an item.
Takanashi Kiara	★★★☆☆
Takanashi Kiara	Her starting weapon has a wide attack range, making it easy to hit enemies. Makes enemies easier to fight by reducing their movement speed with Trailblazer skill at max level. Because of the buff effects of her Dancer skill, it is necessary to always keep moving. She does not have any means to recover HP and her special attack is somewhat unreliable.
Calliope Mori	Before 6/29 update: ★★☆☆☆ After 6/29 update: ★★★★★
Calliope Mori	Starting weapon requires very precise positioning and will not hit if the enemy is too close. Powerful skills overall with Work-a-holic giving you increased attack power and movement speed and Reaper giving you HP recovery. Combining special attack with critical hits makes it possible to further output extremely high damage. After the update, her starting weapon gains a hitbox at close range. Effect of Reaper skill has also been improved.

Hakos Baelz	★★☆☆☆
Hakos Baelz	A character whose main focus is critical attacks and has the highest firepower. Down Under skill prevents enemies from moving. Baelz has no HP recovery skills and is purely about offense. Special attack cuts the waiting time of launching weapons and is active for up to 5 seconds This grants Baelz firepower to defeat even bosses in an instant.
Ouro Kronii	★★★☆☆
Ouro Kronii	Has the fastest movement speed. Kronii can also stop the enemy’s movement, making it very easy to avoid incoming attacks. Can easily recover to max HP using Perfection skill at max level. Special attack can enemies in the entire screen but its effect diminishes towards the end.
Ceres Fauna	★★★☆☆
Ceres Fauna	Access to many HP recovery skills. Her starting weapon does not require adjustment of shooting angle and is easy to handle. Thanks to the continuous HP recovery granted by Whisperer and Sapling skills, you will not take significant damage except during highly disadvantageous situations. Special attack can nullify enemy attacks while recovering HP, making it useful for comebacks.
Nanashi Mumei	★★★★☆
Nanashi Mumei	When starting weapon is max leveled, it gains a homing effect which completely improves it performance. Friend is an easy-to-use skill which also extends the range of collecting EXP. Special attack can clear out all enemies except bosses, but beware of the its negative effects.
Tsukumo Sana	★★★★★
Tsukumo Sana	Specializes in attack range. Sana has powerful omnidirectional attacks and knockback effects with her starting weapon and skills. Powerful enough that you will almost not need to evade, though you will still have to move to pick up EXP. Special attack knocks enemies away while granting Sana invincibility which can be used to get out of critical situations.

IRyS	★★★☆☆
A character with excellent HP recovery skills. Unlike Ceres Fauna, IRyS does not lose her healing when hit. If you have a lot of defense and HP recovery equipment, you can fight even if you get hit frequently which allows you to stay close to enemies. Requires good understanding of her skills’ mechanics as they synergize well with certain item setups (particularly setups using Piki Piki Piman which activate benefits when hit)
