Introduction

HoloCure is a free fan made game developed by Kay Yu. The game heavily resembles Vampire Survivors and is still underdevelopment.  There might be some confusing contents for players within the game. This page contains information on Common Mistakes and Misconceptions in HoloCure.

GWS Pills

Item Name	Effect
GWS Pill	While the Special meter is still charging, increase crit by 15%.

The effect of this item states that while the Special Meter is still charging, the character’s crit rate increases by 15%. To be more specific, the increase crit effect will be active when your Special Meter is not yet full, but it will be inactive as soon as the Special Meter is fully charged. To check if the effect is active, the item’s icon will be seen in the lower left corner. Players can also check if the effect is active in the Pause menu.

Stamps

Stamps can be attached to a weapon three times, and consuming more stamps increases its level, improving its stats and effects. Stamps only apply to the character’s main weapon, and some players may think the stamp effects also apply to other weapons, but that’s not the case. RGB and Reverse stamps’ effects clearly shows that the effects of stamps only work on the character’s main weapon.

There’s also a misconception about the Solo stamp’s effects. To clarify this, the effect of the Solo Stamp only applies to the empty weapon slots and not on the empty stamp slots.

When you sell stamps, the price of strengthened stamps is added to the price, so you can strengthen them without hesitation when farming for HoloCoins. Stamps can be sold at any time by opening the pause screen, it is recommended to sell the stamps before clearing a stage to earn more HoloCoins since it will not carry over to your next run.

Enhancing using Anvils

When enhancing weapons using anvils, the “2” notations signifies “+20%” and not merely “+2 damage”. This is due to the fact that the base damage calculation is based on “10”.

Additionally, the increase in the enhancement value from the Blacksmith’s Gear effect will be subsequently applied later. To be more precise, even if you enhance the item and increase the level, the enhancement value will be 2 → 2.5 → 3, which means it is not wasted.

Enchantment

In the subject of collaborating a weapon, if both weapons were enchanted prior to the collaboration, the weapon will have two enchantments. However, enchanting a collaboration weapon with 0 or 1 enchantment is the same as enchanting a standard weapon, therefore players won’t be able to add a second enchantment. Although enchanting a collab weapon with 2 enchantments does not reduce the enchantments applied, but both will be rerolled.

Bounce Ball Unlock Condition

To unlock this weapon, you need to survive a game for 10 minutes while using a “Flat” character with a Cutting Board weapon equipped. Some players may forget the condition which requires a “Flat” character. It cannot be unlocked even if you have a Cutting Board equipped for 10 minutes.

Murasaki Shion’s Skills

Murasaki Shion‘s skill Cheeky Brat allows her to dodge an attack every 15 seconds and at the same time giving her an ATK bonus for 10 seconds. Beside the skill itself, it can also be triggered when an attack is dodged by the following:

 Breastplate and Piki Piki Piman Activation Conditions

Breastplate

Item Name	Effect
Breastplate	Reduce damage taken by 10% and SPD by 20%. When attacked, there is a 50% chance of dealing 200% damage to the enemy.

The Breastplate’s reflect damage effect can also be triggered while the character is in Invulnerable state. Due to the fact that the item effect states “When attacked”, it does not matter if your in an Invulnerable state as long as you are getting attacked, the effect will be triggered. Lastly, characters with unique Invulnerable skills pairs well with Breastplate.

• Effect can still be triggered while in Special Invulnerable state.
• Effect can still be triggered while in Skill Invulnerable state.
• Effect can still be triggered while a Shield is active from certain items.

Negative Critical Hit Rate

Different numerical values determine the critical hit rate and damage multiplier. As a result, even if your critical hit rate falls below a certain threshold, a reverse critical will not occur.

With this assumption, there will be no disadvantages to using the Gorilla’s Paw to lessen critical hit rate, especially during the early stages when you have not completed upgrades at the store. Some characters with a low critical hit rate or no characteristics related to the critical rate mechanism can also utilize the Gorilla’s Paw with no drawbacks.

Furthermore, the critical damage multiplier’s initial value is +50%. (1.5 times).

Others

• The stamp management menu is accessible from the pause screen at any time. It will not be automatically sold when cleared, so it is recommended to sell your stamps to earn more HoloCoins before clearing a stage.
• You can just drop stamps if you do not wish to use them after picking them up.
• To examine weapon attributes, click the icon to the upper right corner of the weapon. When choosing which skills and items to obtain, always consider weapon stats.
• Gold and silver YAGOO are harmless and does not deal damage when touched.
• Just touching the anvil will not decrease its number of uses. You can cancel out of the action and leave the anvil without using up all of its uses.
• Halu’s count begins when you obtain it, but the HoloCoin multiplier only applies at the end of the stage. This means that by increasing it towards the end of the run, you can earn more HoloCoins.
• In Halu’s description, there’s an inaccurate and missing information, enemies and earnings are increased at Lvl 4 and Lvl 5.
• The effects of upgrading the Blacksmith’s Gear are applied retroactively.
• Critical damage is 1.5 times the standard value.
• In addition to a keyboard and controller, the game can also be played using keyboard and mouse.
• Different costumes can be viewed and unlocked at the top and bottom of the character exchange screen.
