Cauldrons
In Horizon Zero Dawn, these are difficult dungeons which contain fearsome enemies. In order to mark them on the map, either approach them or scale the Tallnecks.
This summarizes the areas where the Cauldrons appear.

| RHO | Get to the cauldron marker then rappel to reach the cave. |
| Sigma | Reach the cauldron sigma symbol at the world map then press and Hold △ while at the door to unlock it. |
| XI | Snatch the Excavation Key from one of the guards to unlock the door. |
| Zeta | Pull yourself up the rock pillar then get inside through the cliff opening. |
Overrides
Better known as Spear overrides, these grant Aloy the ability to tame hostile machines to function as allies during combat. To unlock a new override requires entering a Cauldron. To override the bigger machines, you must access the higher level Cauldrons.
