Latest Astral Chain Trailer Confirms Launch on August 30

The upcoming science fiction action game Astral Chain will be out on the Nintendo Switch August 30 2019, according to the latest trailer released by Nintendo yesterday at E3 2019. The game is developed by PlatinumGames, known for the Bayonetta series and Nier: Automata.

Source: Official Nintendo YouTubeAstral Chain takes place in the future. Violent creatures known as Chimeras emerge from a mysterious dimension to wreak havoc on the human population of Ark. To combat the alien menace, Ark’s police forms a special task force known as Neuron. Operatives of Neuron work together with living weapons called Legions to save humanity from the Chimera invasion.

The game focuses on what the developers call “Synergetic Action” by giving players control of both a Neuron operative and a Legion in battle. Various types of Legions can be commanded, allowing for the use of a wide range of abilities and strategies.

Astral Chain features fast-paced combat, pitting Neuron against different Chimeras of varying size, behavior, and skills. Boss battles are expected to be as intense as those in PlatinumGames’ past action titles. The game was first announced on the Nintendo Direct livestream event on February 13, 2019.
