Monster Hunter Word: Iceborne, the upcoming expansion for Capcom’s acclaimed action-role-playing title, will feature new and returning monsters in the series. In its latest trailer, four more wyverns were shown to be making their way into the game. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will be out on September 6, 2019 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Glavenus

MHW Iceborne New Monsters Revealed

The cutting wyvern Glavenus introduced in Monster Hunter Generations was the first monster revealed. Its return was previously hinted at the end of Sony’s State of Play trailer. Glavenus is identified by its massive sword-like tail. The appendage is mainly used to cleave enemies and obstacles in its path. Glavenus can sharpen its tail and empower it with fiery explosions with its mouth. It is assumed that Glavenus will be encountered in Wildspire Waste as seen in the video.

Ebony Odogaron

MHW Iceborne New Monsters Revealed

A new subspecies of Odogaron called Ebony Odogaron has also been confirmed. The Odogaron variant engages the hunter in combat in Coral Highlands. Its scales have turned dark and has glowing red eyes. Ebony Odogaron’s mouth emits black smoke similar to Deviljho. It can shoot out dragon element projectile to attack foes from afar.

Fulgur Anjanath

MHW Iceborne New Monsters Revealed

Fulgur Anjanath is a new Anjanath variant and the third monster revealed. Its scales are a pale blue in contrast to the pinkish red of its regular species. Fulgur Anjanath can charge itself with lightning to enhance its different attacks. It was seen locked in a turf war against Tigrex in Hoarfrost Reach.

Brachydios

MHW Iceborne New Monsters Revealed

An Uragaan covered in green slime and collapsing from explosions was shown at the end of the trailer. The scene greatly hints at Brachydios, a brute wyvern that first appeared in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. Brachydios smears explosive slime on enemies by hitting them with its powerful fists. It is an extremely relentless predator that gives no quarter when enraged.
