Game Overview

Follows the story of the post-pandemic world survivor Ellie. Five years after the apocalypse, Ellie took refuge in Jackson, Wyoming.

Follows the story of the post-pandemic world survivor Ellie. Five years after the apocalypse, Ellie took refuge in Jackson, Wyoming. In the midst of the on-going pandemic, She lives in a peaceful community with fellow survivors. However, a fateful event broke the silence which forced Ellie to seek justice and search for closure. Determined, Ellie goes on a journey to track down the people involved at the cost of facing the consequences of her actions.

The game’s development started back in 2014 which was shortly after the release of the first game’s remastered edition. The Last of Us 2 was first shown on December 2016 during the Playstation Experience event. Another trailer premiered on October 2017 in the Paris Games Week which focused on new characters. On May 6, Naughty Dog unveiled a new trailer which revolved around Ellie and Joel, the first game’s protagonists.

The game’s official release date was originally scheduled for release on February 21, 2020 for the Playstation 4. The game gone gold on May 4th. The release date was moved two times, the first being on May 29, 2020, but due to the global pandemic, was eventually moved again to June 19, 2020.

Complex Story

Ellie faces many choices along the way as she goes through the story’s vicious cycle. These will test your notions of right versus wrong, good versus evil, and hero versus villain.

Action-Survival Gameplay

Being put in the shoes of Ellie offers a feeling of dread through her efforts to survive. The game improves on the various features from the first game including combat, motion, and stealth. Another returning feature is the ability to craft items and avail of upgrades. There are also skills to allocate to optimize gameplay which can help Ellie stand up against the most relentless encounters.

Perilous Journey

Despite the game’s vibrant environments, many mysteries and threats lurk in the shadows. Groups can range from ally communities to hostile abominations brought about by the infection. Perfectly crafted to mirror the intricacies of real life, the new engine fleshes out these characters of the post-pandemic world with utmost attention to detail.
