Chapter 12: Sandship Walkthrough
Sandship – Getting the Bow
1 | Once Link arrives at the ship, enter the door on the west end of the deck. |

2 | Go downstairs and strum your Harp to get treasures. Proceed to the east pathway and defeat enemies such as Keeses and enter the door. |
3 | Make use of a bomb to eliminate the Electro Spume enemies and run across the sand. |
3 | Follow the hallway and go downstairs. Defeat more enemies such as Aracha. |
4 | See a locked door that leads to the dungeon boss. Ignore it for now and proceed to the northern hall. Enter the next door. |
5 | In this room, defeat enemies and use your Gust Bellows. Remove all the sand in the room and find 4 circular symbols on the ground. |
6 | These symbols look like ship wheels and each has 1 spoke highlighted with red color. The red-colored spokes indicate how you will hit the gem lock crystals on the locked door. |
7 | The hit order is Bottom, Top, Bottom, and Right. After you perform the hits and unlocked the door, go inside and open a chest (Small Key x1). |
8 | Return to the door locked from the upper area. SAVE your game first and reach the figurehead. Prepare for a mini-boss fight. |
Defeat Scervo
1 | Defeat the Scervo. |

2 | The battle happens at a figurehead, which is a narrow platform. |
3 | In the first phase, keep doing sword slashes to knock him back. If the boss blocks an attack, move backward to evade the follow-up attack. You can also use a Shield Bash to stun the mini-boss while it executes an attack to make it stunned. |
4 | In the second phase, Scervo will activate a wall of spikes behind Link and move it forward. Keep doing the same process and take note that the boss will attack twice this time. |
5 | In the final phase, Scervo will move the wall of spikes closer leaving you a small room to move back. Be aggressive and deliver a hit while the mini-boss is winding up for an attack. Use Shield Bash precisely and to knock the mini-boss off the edge. |
6 | Approach the end and examine the chest (Bow x1). |
Sandship – Getting the Dungeon Map
1 | Return to the central top deck. Shoot the blue target using your newly acquire bow. |

2 | A timeshift stone will come out and hit it with an arrow shot. The field has enemies such as Bokoblins. |
3 | Target Bokoblin Archers first using your bow. Start from the bottom and ascend to the top. See zipline and hit the blue targets from a distance. |
4 | Once the pulley bar reaches your spot, go east and grab onto it to ride to the higher platform. |
5 | Defeat more Bokoblin Archers and go to another top platform using the lift pulley bar. |
6 | Use your sword and stick it into the switch. Turn it clockwise and press. It will open the cover around the timeshift stone. |
7 | Hit the blue target to the east in order to ride a pulley bar. Drop down to the central top deck and look east to find a clawshot target. |
8 | Use your clawshot and find a treasure chest (Piece of Heart x1). After that, return to the central top deck. |
9 | Return to the central top deck. Look for a small boat or dinghy hanging in the north and use your bow to hit the blue switch to make it drop to an area. There is no use for it for now but it will serve as a shortcut later. |
10 | Go west and enter the door. Go down and enter the door on the right side. Inside the room are Technoblins for you to defeat. |
11 | After the battle, go to the small room at the northwest section of the ship. After a cutscene with Fi, use your bow to hit the timeshift stone found at the hole in the ceiling. This will make Link return to the present. |
12 | Enter an adjacent room and acquire an item from a chest (Dungeon Map x1). Grab the level to open the gate. |
Sandship – Getting the Squid Carving
1 | After opening the gate, run across the quicksand and look on the east side of the room. |

2 | Hit the propeller by using your bow and see a new blue switch. Hit the switch and a door will open. |
3 | Enter that door and defeat the Thunder Keese enemies inside. Move the block out of the way and stand on the switch at the right side of the room. |
4 | Carefully aim and hit the blue switch with an arrow to open up another room. |
5 | Return to the location where you get the dungeon map and enter the nearby room. Use Link’s bow to hit the timeshift stone. This will activate the ship. |
6 | Go to the hallway and enter the first door located on your right. Defeat an enemy and see a strange device from the back of this room. |
7 | Turn on the first power generator using Link’s sword in order to activate it. |
8 | Go back into the hall again and proceed to the second door on the left. Defeat enemies and find a floor switch along with a steel block. |
9 | Push the block to make it on top of the floor switch. This makes the windows of the ship open up. |
10 | Since you lower the small boat or dinghy, it will visible through the first window. Jump onto the small boat and use the arrow the blue switch to make it go up back to the central top deck. |
11 | Once you returned near to the central top deck, hit the timeshift stone. Return to the small boat and hit the blue switch again to descend. Jump into the window and go to the adjacent room. |
12 | Jump and pull the lever to unlock the adjacent door. Stand below the sunlight and target the hole above using the bow. Hit another timeshift stone and use your sword to activate the second power generator nearby. |
13 | Leave the adjacent room and go down the hallway. Proceed through the other doorway on the same side of the hallway. |
14 | Climb out the window but there is no small boat this time. Instead, use the ladder and climb down to reach the floor below. Reach the end of the corridor and enter the door. |
15 | In this room, the blocks are moving due to the power generators activated. Get past them and climb the ladder at the end. |
16 | Make use of the whip on the bar and swing. Stop when you see an opening on the west side. Move to that direction and see treasure chests (Silver Rupees x2). Drop back down and use the ladder to continue swinging again. |
17 | When you encounter new blocks lifting up, sprint and climb the ladder. Use your whip again on the bar and swing to the next box. After landing, stand still for a while and wait for the next box to get its lower point and jump towards it. |
18 | Continue running to the higher platform and pull the lever to make the gate open. Crawl through the small hole, climb another ladder, and pull another level. |
19 | Robots will be free and they will mark the entrance leading to the Captain’s Cabin. Make your way back to the central top deck. |
20 | Hit the timeshift stone on the deck to return back to the present. Make use of the small key on the locked door at the east end. Enter and follow the passageway at the far left of this room. |
21 | Stand below a hole in the ceiling and aim the timeshift stone with your bow. Defeat enemies, including a Beamos. |
22 | Stand on the floor switch at the north end of the room. Targe the small hole with your bow and it will hit the blue switch from a distance. This will make another door open. |
23 | Takeout the Beamos in this room. Shoot your arrow directly into their eye. After the two gates lift, a treasure chest (Squid Carving x1) can be spotted. |
Defeat Abyssal Leviathan: Tentalus
1 | Defeat Tentalus, the Abyssal Leviathan. |

2 | Use Skyward Strikes to break the tentacles getting your way. Reach the central top deck and don’t mind parts of the ship sinking underwater. Avoid the barrels and reach the top. |
3 | In the first phase, do horizontal slashes to cut down the tentacles while also charging your Skyward Strike. Perform a Skyward Strike or dodge to avoid getting grab by the boss. |
4 | During the second phase, the boss will come out from underwater. Use your bow to target the eye. When Tentalus crashes down, use many sword slashes. Continue doing this process. The boss will show up on the other side so move your character to another area. |
5 | For the third and final phase, Tentalus will do attacks using tentacles with teeth. This will make you lose a heart immediately when hit. Use the sword to slash the tentacles. Use your bow to shoot the eye once again. |
6 | When you defeat the boss, get an item (Heart Container x1). Link’s sword will be powered up by the Flames of Nayru. Also, Link can now dowse for four additional items and his Goddess Longsword will change into a Goddess White Sword weapon. |
7 | Prepare to leave to the Isle of Songs again. |
