New Features to Expect in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD is scheduled for launch on July 16th, 2021 for the Nintendo Switch. This remastered version of the original 2011 Nintendo Wii title boasts high-definition graphical quality and gameplay improvements for a better overall gaming experience.

Remastered Graphics: High-definition Quality

As an upgraded port of Skyward Sword coming to the Switch, the game will feature enhanced graphics and smoother game visuals. This will allow the movements of the main playable character Link to look and feel more fluid and immediate thanks to the Switch system’s greater processing power to support HD graphics.

“Button-only” Controls

In Skyward Sword HD, players will be able to control Link’s in-game movements during combat that correspond to the angle of each strike you make with the Joy-Con controller. This is to enable immersive swordplay that requires strategy and accuracy. The newly-added “button-only” control is perfect for playing in handheld mode on the Switch or Switch Lite systems.

The Zelda & Loftwing amiibo figure

Skyward Sword HD will also feature Nintendo amiibo compatibility with the upcoming Zelda & Loftwing amiibo figure. Experience and enjoy Zelda’s company with Loftwing while traveling through the skies of Skyloft. Scanning the amiibo figure using your Switch system provides a much quicker way to travel from the surface world to the sky while exploring. Scan it again above the clouds to return to the same spot on the surface.
