Eldin Volcano – Entrance

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD - Chapter 4: Missing Sister and Injured Bird Side Quest

1 Upon landing in the Eldin Volcano’s starting location, move ahead and take out the Red Chuchu.
2 Go down the ledge and use a Skyward Strike on the Goddess Cube #4. Afterwards, climb up again and follow the path on the right.
3 As you go further, you will encounter Cobal and Ledd. Afterwards, keep following the path down and take out the enemies along the way.
4 Many enemies in the area can set you on fire. To put it out, perform a spin attack or roll.
5 You can cross the area with rising magma by waiting for it to down. Move to the path on the left and talk to Kortz to learn how to use the bomb flowers which will allow you to destroy the three blocks in the area. Roll a bomb through the small opening as well to get Blue Rupee.
6 If you need to heal, sit on the stool inside one of the shelter structures.
7 When you come to the Bird Statue, activate it and follow the path leading outside. Drop down on the left and you should see some bombs that you can roll through a small opening.
8 Head into the opening to find an item (Red Rupee x1).
9 Backtrack to the previous road with the splitting paths. From there, follow the path going straight to find a Goddess Cube #5.
10 Head back to where the path splits and take the last path to find Merco. Talk to him and move forward.
11 Jump and take out the Pyrup by rolling a bomb when it crawls into the hole.
12 Further along the path are some Red Bokoblin and a Bokoblin Leader. Deal with them and move forward to find some more Pyrups. Throw bombs inside the shells that they try to hide in to take them out.
13 Afterwards, go north, ignoring the (Stamina Fruit x1) and bridge nearby. Climb the rocks and follow the road while taking out the enemies on the way.
14 When you find another Pyrup, roll a bomb in front of it and head for the cliff to get a Piece of Heart x1.
15 Backtrack to the bridge and sprint across. Talk to Zanc. Afterwards, head back across the bridge and roll a bomb towards the boulder blocking the flow of lava.
16 Afterwards, cross the bridge again and go up the ledge. Walk to the left until you see a gust of wind you can use to go up and down to the hole. While falling down through the hole, try to glide to the ledge on the left for a treasure chest. The ledge on the right has a Goddess Cube #6 as well. If you miss the items, you can try to get them again after you get to the top.
17 There is also a Bird Statue at the bottom if you need to use it.
18 Talk to Tyto along the path. Afterwards, take out the group of Bokoblin ahead, including the Bokoblin Leaders. One of the leaders is positioned up the wooden section above so be sure to take him out as well before he calls more Bokoblins.
19 Return to Tyto to get a piece of new quipment (Digging Mitts x1) which you can use to dig under soft soil nearby to release a gust of wind that will take you up.
20 You can also head for the path on the left to find some more soft soil to dig through to get some items.
21 You will also find three large holes that you can slide down to. Take the one in the center to find a treasure chest with Eldin Ore. Dig up all soft soil spots in the area if you can.
22 Backtrack to where Tyto is and dig up the soft soil to go up using the gust of wind.
23 Follow the path on the right. When you see the group of Pyrups, move to the southeast corner and get some bomb flowers.
24 Roll the bomb into the hole to take out the Pyrup blocking the path to the northeast corner.
25 Be sure to use a bomb to destroy the wall in the room to find a treasure chest (Silver Rupee x1) as well.
26 Move through the path that the Pyrup was blocking and use the Digging Mitts to dig through the soft soil. Use the gust of wind to go up out of the underground cave.
27 When you arrive outside, move forward and talk to Nackle. Afterwards, follow the path on the right and destroy the boulder using a bomb.
28 Cross the bridge and save at the Bird Statue.

Eldin Volcano – Ascent

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD - Chapter 4: Gratitude Crystals

1 From the Bird Statue, go left. Take out the Fire Keese along the way.
2 Go over the gap and dash up the steep path. Attack the Bokoblin on the nearby platform to send him off the ledge. Afterwards, use the bomb flower on the other platform and throw it down to the boulder to destroy it.
3 Use the Digging Mitts to get some Slingshot ammo from the soil spots. Afterwards, head back to the first platform (the one where you took out the first Bokoblin).
4 From here, you will be able to see a Bokoblin up the hill in the distance. Fire your Slingshot above the Bokoblin to cause the boulder above to come down on top of him.
5 Make your way up the hill and destroy the wall left using a bomb flower to get two Red Rupees.
6 When you come to the watchtower, use a bomb flower to destroy it, allowing you to cross it as a makeshift bridge.
7 You can also play a Thrill Digger mini-game at this point if you destroy the nearby boulder blocking the entrance to a cave nearby. You can earn a decent amount of Rupees this way if you want a break from the main story.
8 Back at where the watchtower was, cross the makeshift bridge and make your way up the mountain. Scale the wall until you find yourself up against a steep climb with some Bokoblins ahead.
9 Go up and take out the Bokoblins while making your way up. Use your slingshot on the ones carrying rocks as they are holding it over there head to take them out easily.
10 Continue up the hill to reach the entrance of Earth Temple.

Earth Temple Entrance – Finding the Key Fragments

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD - Chapter 4: Eldin Volcano Earth Temple Entrance

11 Talk to the Mogma there. Afterwards, you need to find all the five key fragments to enter the temple. You can use dowsing to help you find all of them around the area.
12 To find the first key fragment, turn around and face the hill from where you surfaced. Follow the path with some bomb flowers near the pagoda-like structure to the east. Follow the path down to find a wall that you can destroy with bombs. Throw a bomb at it and dig up the first key fragment.
13 The second key fragment is found near the entrance of the temple to the left. Use dowsing and you should come to the soil spot where the fragment is.
14 Feel free to dig up the other soft soil spots nearby. You can also find a Goddess Cube #7 by digging up the one to the northwest. Ride the geyser up and throw a bomb flower at the geyser to destroy the boulder. Afterwards, you will be able to access the Goddess Cube.
15 Afterwards, head back down and go south. Throw a bomb at the watchtower below the slope and you should find the soil spot where the third key fragment is.
16 Head back to the entrance of the temple and go east. Take out the Bokoblins at the small camp and throw a bomb at the watchtower to make another makeshift bridge. Do not cross it yet. Instead, you can face east from the camp. A Goddess Cube #8 can be found near the lava stream by the ledge.
17 Back at the camp, cross the makeshift bridge and through the tunnel. Afterwards, look to your left and approach the edge. Drop down and grab onto the narrow ledge. Make your way across and up the ledge on the left. Follow the path on the right and onto the vines.
18 Go down and follow it to the other side to find a switch you can step on. This will activate a bridge to make it easier to get back.
19 Go up and quickly go right down the sandy slope. As you fall down to another slope, go left.
20 You can use the geyser to go up to the pillar with the Goddess Cube #9 down below.
21 Backtrack by jumping north and head for the geyser on the other side. You can dig up a Fairy at the pillar if you want. Afterwards, go down to the south.
22 Follow the path on the right. Wait for the two geysers on your left to blow air and jump over. Climb up and dig up the soft soil to find the fourth key fragment.
23 Go down the south side down to the bottom of the mountain. Get on the platform that has a stamina fruit. Afterwards, go in the cave to find a wall that you can destroy near a pool of lava. Move out and throw a nearby bomb flower down the plugged flow of lava below to lower the lava level. Afterwards, roll another bomb at the wall to destroy it to find the last key fragment under some soft soil.
24 Exit the cave and go west. You can now take the geyser to return to the entrance of the temple but ignore it for now. First, get a bomb flower just outside the cave. Then, use the bomb to destroy the rocks to the geyser’s left, creating a shortcut from the Bird Statue and the top of the volcano.
25 Afterwards, go up using the geyser and head to the entrance of the temple. Go inside by using the key to unlock the door.
