All Shields List in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

Shields are Link’s primary weapon in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD. Below is the list of all available shields that Link can use in the game, how and where to get them, and the description of each shields.

Wooden Shields

Skyward Sword HD Wooden-Shield Wooden Shield  Skyloft This shield is obtainable by speaking with Instructor Owlan after Zelda falls out of the sky. The Wooden Shield can also be purchased for 50 rupees in the Bazaar’s Gear Shop.
Skyward Sword HD BandedShield Banded Shield Scrap Shop It can be crafted by taking your old Wooden Shield to Gondo, the Scrap Shop owner and paying him 30 Rupees along with the required items to upgrade it. This shield is more durable than the Wooden Shield, it’s capable of taking a great deal more hits, but still made of wood, there’s a chance it will burn to ashes.
Skyward Sword HD BracedShield Braced Shield Scrap Shop It can also be crafted by taking your Banded Shield to Gondo, and paying him 50 Rupees along with the required items to upgrade it. This shield offers a much greater resistance to attacks than the Banded Shield. This Shield will also protects against electric attacks, but still won’t block fire attacks and will burn to ashes because its still made of wood.

Iron Shields

Skyward Sword HD IronShield Iron Shield Skyloft Iron shield is much durable than other shields that Link can purchase. It is fire resistance but conducts electricity. This shield can be obtained before Link sets out for Eldin Volcano for 100 Rupees.
Skyward Sword HD ReinforcedShield Reinforced Shield Scrap Shop It can be crafted by taking your Iron Shield to Gondo, the Scrap Shop owner and paying him 50 Rupees along with the required items to upgrade it. This shield adds increased durability, and blocks better than the Iron Shield. It’s also immune to burning, but it still weak against electrical based attacks.
Skyward Sword HD FortifiedShield Fortified Shield Scrap Shop The Fortified Shield is the second and last upgrade to the iron type of shield. It crafted by taking your Reinforced Shield to Gondo, and paying him 100 Rupees along with the required items to upgrade it. This shield is the toughest shield made of iron.

Sacred Shields

Skyward Sword SacredShield Sacred Shield Skyloft It can be purchased at the Gear Shop within the Bazaar of Skyloft, for a hefty 500 Rupees. It only becomes available once Link has defeated The Imprisoned for the first time. The Sacred Shield can block all sorts of attacks, including fire, electricity, and curse attacks. Also, the Sacred Shield has the special ability of being able to startle Cursed Bokoblins when they see the shield.
Skyward Sword HD DivineShield Divine Shield Scrap Shop It is the first upgrade to the Sacred Shield, crafted by Gondo the Scrap Shop owner after giving him a Sacred Shield, a 100 Rupee payment, and certain other Treasures. This shield can defend against all attacks and has the power to restore itself over time. This shield also has a faster regeneration rate and increased durability.
Skyward Sword HD GoddessShield Goddess Shield Scrap Shop It can also be crafted by taking Link’s Divine Shield to Gondo, and paying him 150 Rupees along with the required items to upgrade it. This shield also defends against all attacks and has the power to restore itself over time. This shield also is more durable and has a faster regeneration rate than the Divine Shield. It is one of the most useful shields in the game, second only to the Hylian Shield. The design on the shield is of the Goddess Hylia.

Hylian Shield

Skyward Sword HylianShield Hylian Shield Skyloft The Hylian Shield is obtained once Link beats eight consecutive bosses in the Thunder Dragon’s Lightning Round. Unlike all other shields in the game, it is indestructible; it also resists fire and electric attacks.
