Swords are Link’s primary weapon in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD. Below is the list of all available swords that Link can use in the game, how and where to get them, and the description of each swords.

Practice Sword | Sparring Hall | This sword is located at the Sparring Hall at the northwest part of Skyloft. After Fledge informs Link that Groose and his friends hid his Loftwing near the waterfall, Pipit warns Link that it is dangerous. He suggests that Link asks Eagus, the Knight Commander in the Sparring Hall, if he can borrow a sword. | Using the Practice Sword, Link can finally cut down the barrier in front of the Waterfall Cave and defeat the enemies inside. |

Goddess Sword | Inside the Statue of the Goddess | This sword allows Link to travel between Skyloft and Hyrule. If Link holds the sword skyward, he can use the Skyward Strike. If Link slices a Goddess Cube with the Skyward Strike, the cube is sent to the sky, opening a Goddess Chest. |

Goddess Longsword | Upgrade | It’s the second form of the Goddess Sword in Skyward Sword. Link obtains this sword after completing the Ancient Cistern and absorbing Farore’s Flame into the Goddess Sword. With this upgrade, Link’s sword is now longer and has double the power of before. It is able to deal 8 points of damage during a regular slash, 12 points of damage during a Spin Slash, and 4 points of damage during a Skyward Strike. |

Goddess White Sword | Upgrade | The third form of the Goddess Sword in Skyward Sword. It is obtained in the Sandship when the Goddess Longsword is purified by Nayru’s Flame. The Goddess White Sword is much whiter than the previous incarnation, and is more pure as well. This sword also has enhanced Dowsing abilities, making it easier to locate Treasure, Rupees, etc. |

True Master Sword | – | This sword deals twice the damage. Each slash can deal 16 points of damage. The Spin Slash deals 24 points of damage and the Skyward Strike deals 8 points of damage. |
