Chapter 17: Sky Keep Walkthrough
Dungeon – Sky Keep
1 | Several Clawshots enemies will spawn in the air after inserting the Stone of Trials in the bird statue northeast of Skyloft. Follow the targets to the entrance of Sky Keep, Skyward Sword’s seventh and final dungeon. |
---|---|
2 | Sky Keep likes to shake things up a little. First and foremost, when entering the first room, you will find a Chest containing the Dungeon Map. |
3 | A pedestal lies in a chamber to the east. To begin a sliding block puzzle, activate the pedestal. Several of these pedestals may be found throughout the dungeon. |
4 | Each sliding block represents a different room in the dungeon. Some chambers have doors that are indicated on the map, while others contain Triforce components. |
1 | Move the center square in the right column down. |
---|---|
2 | Move the center square in the middle row right. |
2 | Enter the room to the east. |
Dungeon – Faron Woods Room
1 | This room is similar to Faron Woods, but it contains puzzle elements from various dungeons. Cut through the trees to the south. |
---|---|
2 | Over the chasm is a Whip grip, but before you use it, fire the Beetle over the distance to chop down a vine. To release the vine, hit the base with your Beetle. |
3 | Now you can swing over the gap. With your Bow, shoot the Furnix, then use your Clawshots to climb the next vine pillar. |
4 | Cross the vine pillars to the Clawshots target and drop to the platform below. On the base of the second vine column there are several Bombs. |
5 | With your Beetle, you may pick up a Bomb and bring it across to the wall of Pyrups, which will block your next vine swinging with a wall of fire. |
6 | Swing over to the platform hanging from ropes now that the Pyrups are gone. This platform should be familiar to you; a Gust Bellows blast will leave it flying. |
7 | To go from one platform to the next, use the Gust Bellows. Save your progress at the Bird Statue on the opposite side and sprint up the wall to activate the wall switch and return to the Faron Woods area’s beginning. |
8 | Before leaving to the north, look for a Goddess Wall near the Bird Statue. |
Dungeon – Lanayru Mining Facility Room
1 | You may pick up a Timeshift Orb in the hallway and take it through the nearby fenced-off doorway in this Lanayru-like chamber. |
---|---|
2 | Destroy the Sentrobe on the opposite side of the gate and just leave the Timeshift Orb on the ground. |
3 | Climb the ladder and flip the switch on the wall. By stepping on the floor switch and throwing the Orb through the open gate, you may now load it onto a conveyor belt. |
4 | Climb the staircase quickly and follow the Orb on its path. Catch up with the orb and place it on the platform in the following room’s track. |
5 | When you activate the wind switch on the platform with your Gust Bellows, it will begin crossing the enormous gap. Walk beside it, directing air and activating the switches, a foot switch and then a wall switch, to enable it to continue. |
6 | Bring the Timeshift Orb with you and enter the next chamber. Place the Orb on a different conveyor belt. As the Beamos come to life, stand far away and shoot them with your Bow. |
7 | In this section, you must activate five eye switches located above the conveyor belt. The Timeshift Orb must cross in front of them on the belt to unlock the eye switches. |
8 | To reverse the direction of the conveyor belt, use the Whip to trigger a lever in the middle of the space. You should be able to fire all five eye switches with this and unlock the adjacent gate. |
1 | Move the Top-Middle Room to the Middle. |
---|---|
2 | Move the Top-Left Room to the Top. |
3 | Move the Left Room to the Top-Left. |
4 | Move the Bottom-Left Room to the Left. |
5 | Move the Bottom Room to the Bottom-Left. |
6 | Move the Middle Room to the Bottom. |
7 | Move the Left Room to the Middle. |
8 | Head back south to the Faron Woods Room. From here, go west into the Earth Temple Room. |
Dungeon – Earth Temple Room
1 | Crawl down the tiny passageway in the Earth Temple area to a chamber with a single Bomb Plant inside. |
---|---|
2 | Backtrack through the tunnel you just crawled through and throw a bomb. This will take you to a chamber with a hole leading underground. |
3 | To open a gate above, slash the switch there. Return to the main area and enter the chamber. go through the open doorway and you’ll see some Dark Lizalfos. |
4 | There are three pink switches in this chamber, and they must be hit in a particular sequence from lowest to highest. To begin, you must first expose each of the switches. |
5 | Start with the closest switch, which is hidden behind one of those weird statues with a basket over a pool of lava. To bring down the statue, throw a bomb into the basket. |
6 | This switch hasn’t been turned on yet. Instead, turn around and search for a curving funnel that leads to a crack in the wall. Toss a Bomb down the chute (target slightly to the left) and it will blast a hole in the ground below. |
7 | Climb the vines at the bottom of the chute after sliding down it. Many bamboo stalks are covering another basket statue and Bomb Plant on the platform above the location. |
8 | A Skyward Strike may be used to slice the bamboo. Charge your sword and slash it horizontally to slice the stalks down with a surge of energy. |
9 | Once all of the stalks have been cleared, send your Beetle to retrieve the Bomb and gently place it in the statue’s basket. You have to change the view and drop the Bomb into position. |
10 | Drop down to the middle level with all 3 pink switches exposed. Send the Beetle down the chute to the lowest pink switch, then over the lava, and finally far above the area to the highest pink switch. |
11 | This will reveal a dig area behind a gate. You may trigger a switch underneath the ground that repositions the gate above by digging here. To get to the switch, you must first knock the center bomb to the left, then upwards to clear the stones. |
12 | Return to the surface and enter through the newly opened gate. A second dig location here leads to a labyrinth with two Moldorms. To unlock the exiting dig location, you must eliminate the enemies. |
13 | When you resurface, you’ll see a door going north to a new room. |
Dungeon – Mini Boss Room: LD-003K Dreadfuse
1 | Crawl down the tiny passageway in the Earth Temple area to a chamber with a single Bomb Plant inside. |
---|---|
2 | Because the Dreadfuse robot can only move in one direction, stabbing movements and vertical Spin Attacks are the greatest options. That stated, Shield Bash counterattacks are the key to success in this battle. |
3 | You can get a lot of attacks in if you counter the robot’s movements. Dreadfuse will be pushed towards a ledge in the distance with each attack, so remain on the aggressive and only counter if it comes to it. |
4 | You can get Dreadfuse to the edge if you keep stabbing him, and he’ll send a spiked fence up behind you. Return to the same techniques and run straight for him to clear some space. |
5 | Dreadfuse’s sword will fall off and he’ll start utilizing a spinning hook attack after you bring him to the edge of the ship platform a second time. |
6 | This attack is difficult to counter, but it is possible if you convert to a defensive approach and use Shield Bash on these attacks. To win the fight, get Dreadfuse to the platform’s edge. |
7 | Use your Clawshots to cross the gap past Dreadfuse, and you’ll find a Small Key in a Chest on the opposite side. To go to a curved tunnel with another slide puzzle podium, go through the door opposite the chest. |
Rotate all the rooms counterclockwise until the Green Triforce room is just to your left.
1 | Top row, left square, down one space. |
---|---|
2 | Top row, center square, left one space. |
3 | Top row, right square, left one space. |
4 | Middle row, right square, up one space. |
5 | Bottom row, right square, up one space. |
6 | Bottom row, center square, right one space. |
7 | Bottom row, left square, right one space. |
8 | Middle row, left square, down one space. |
9 | Top row, left square, down one space. |
10 | Run through the little curvy path to the door leading to the next room which is the western chamber. |
Dungeon – Ancient Cistern Room (Triforce of Courage)
1 | You can unlock a door in this section using the Small Key from the Mini Boss Room. There are two Metal Shield Moblins beyond it. Use a several arrows to kill the first one, then leap over the shield to eliminate it from behind. |
---|---|
2 | Complete the second Moblin and go to the next chamber. You should be able to clear every Bokoblin from the room’s entrance using your Bow. |
3 | With the Beetle, collect arrow bundles. The Bokoblin invasion is followed by two Stalfos, but the main danger is in the next chamber. A Stalmaster and a horde of Cursed Bokoblins. |
4 | The Stalmaster is difficult enough on its own, but to just clear the area from the Cursed Bokoblins, you’ll need to unleash several spin strikes. In this battle, your Hylian Shield should come in useful. |
5 | The entrance to the Silent Realm, as well as the first piece of the Triforce, may be found in the following chamber. If you plunge your sword through the ground seal, you will be taken to a tiny part of the Silent Realm where you may approach the glowing triangle. You’ll be sent back to the Sky Keep if you grab the Triforce of Courage. |
Move the all rooms counterclockwise so that the room with the Red Triforce is located just to the west.
1 | Use the wall switch to create a shortcut back to the Mini Boss Room. Move the Sky Keep pieces with the podium again in the Mini Boss Room. |
---|---|
2 | Top row, middle square, left one space. |
3 | Top row, right square, left one space. |
4 | Middle row, right square, up one space. |
5 | Bottom row, right square , up one space. |
6 | Bottom row, middle square, right one space. |
7 | Bottom row, left square, right one space. |
8 | Middle row, left square, down one space. |
9 | Top row, left square, down one space. |
9 | Return to the Fire Sanctuary Room through the western door. |
Dungeon – Fire Sanctuary Room (Triforce of Power)
1 | Long rivers of lava and plenty of Water Fruit are used to build platforms in this room. Break the first Fruit and jump onto the platform. |
---|---|
2 | Keep an eye out for Keese as you make your way to the opposite end of the room. Before you do anything else, eliminate all of them. |
3 | Before you chop down the Water Fruit in front of it, look for a pink switch high above the nearby lava flow after sending the Beetle over the short fence. |
4 | To stop the lava flowing from a dragon’s mouth, send the Beetle up to another pink switch at the end of the nearby lava flow. |
5 | Jump over the fence to the second platform, which is now floating. Ride onto it to the cave and then exit to activate a wall switch and return to the starting point. |
6 | Another lava flow is on the way. Cut another Water Fruit and jump to another platform. Before you accomplish anything, beat off the Keese once again. |
7 | You’ll have to activate a pink switch on the opposite side of a short fence once again before dropping a Water Fruit into the lava flow. If you don’t turn on the switch first, the platform will collapse. Using the space in the wall, jump across to the platform. |
8 | Collect a Silver Rupee using your Beetle above the lava flow on the wall onto the left of the pink switch. The platform will transport you to another platform above a lava spout. |
9 | Send your Beetle back to the pink switch on the lava spout to reroute the lava to the pathway in front of you. After that, use your Bow to knock out the Water Fruit on the other side of the road. Jump over the fence as you ascend to land on the recently formed platform. |
10 | Between you and the next piece of Triforce are just two Lava Spumes. When you get off the metal landing, shoot them with your arrows and let the lava take the platform under it. |
11 | Prepare to use your Clawshots to hit that target at the lava river’s endpoint. Another Silent Realm entrance may be located here. |
12 | Thrust your sword through the ground’s seal, and then grab the Triforce of Power that will appear on the other side. |
13 | Return to the Mini Boss Room by climbing the vines. Return to the Mini Boss Room and use the pedestal to move the rooms. |
For this time, move each room around the center room (where you are located right now) in counterclockwise.
1 | The blue Triforce chamber may be moved from the bottom to just above the middle square. |
---|---|
2 | The Earth Temple Room will be to the west of the center room, the starting room to the north, and the undiscovered room to the center of the top row. |
3 | To get to the Sandsea Room, go west through the Earth Temple Room and then north through the room. |
Dungeon – Sandsea Room (Triforce of Wisdom)
A Timeshift Sphere may be found on a nearby platform in this area. Save your game progress at the Bird Statue and then go get it. (Certain areas in Skyloft are inaccessible after solving the puzzles in this room. If you want to finish any side missions that you’ve missed, save for now and leave.)
1 | For the most part, you don’t need to eliminate the resurrected opponents in this chamber; you may run straight by them. On the north side of the room, there is a noticeable tile where you should place the Sphere. |
---|---|
2 | Return to the ramp by traversing the quicksand and heading up to where you originally acquired the Timeshift Sphere with the Sphere in place. |
3 | Shoot an arrow across the room from this higher area, which is now revealed by the Timeshift Sphere underneath it. |
4 | Take the Timeshift Sphere and go through the gate that was opened by the activated Eye Switch. Eliminate the Deku Babas and place the Sphere on top of them. You should be able to make it to the end of the path, where there is a disabled fan. |
5 | To ensure that the fan is disabled, you must remove the Sphere away from it. To shoot the eye switch across the room, shoot an arrow through the fan. This unlocks a gate above the area to the east. |
6 | Bring the Timeshift Sphere to the east and put it between the two rooms above, close enough to the middle of the room for the platform to rise out of the ground as well. |
7 | You can now run back up to the ramp, jump onto the raised platform, and use your Clawshots to grapple across to the upper eastern part with the Sphere in place. |
8 | This is where you’ll find the last seal that will take you to the Silent Realm. Get the Triforce of Wisdom by thrusting your sword through the seal. |
